thanks for posting it was nice to follow some of the Ohio teams I hear mentioned on this forum. Ballard (KY) and Huntington North (IN) looked impressive. I thought Glen Este played well and Westerville's pitcher did a nice job in the game that went in to ITB. Keystone looked overmatched.

This was a great invitational tournament, the teams that were here were extremely good and the action was furious. The host school Ballard HS and Huntington HS from Indiana hit like nobody's business. The leadoff from Ballard Jessica Adell (signed U of Tenn.) ran a 2.5 home to first and had at least 3 inside the park homers this weekend. Keystone and Mathews definitely held their own against some of the best teams from Ky, Ind, Tenn and Ark.

Ballard hosted a great tournament and the competition was excellent. The young lady from Ballard who is committed to Tennessee was a true triple threat. During one of her at bats she put one in the gap to the outfield off a slap and was rounding 2nd before the ball even hit the ground. AMAZING SPEED! Ballard's catcher had a gun for an arm (i guess that's why she is going to South Carolina). The weather was beautiful and the facilities were very nice. The teams we faced were tough and yes, they had hitters. The only drawback was the timed games. It was a great experience for our girls.

Glen Este did well against Rethlake and Huntington Friday night....even out hit them, but just couldn't scratch a run across...Parker did a fine job in the circle holding HN to 3 hits, but allowing 3 runs in that process...I also watched the Ballard/Mathews game...this was had me scratching my head...first few innings Ballard couldn't touch Eggens, lots of bites and Ks on her hard rise...then I think it was the 4th inning, the rise ball seemed to vanish, and it was pitches down in the zone, all Ballard did was throw the barrel at a few of them to light the fuse...think 3 in a row went straight past or through the 2nd baseman...after that is was a merry go round, and they scored most if not all of their runs in the bottom of that inning, when the team defense was exposed...don't know what caused that pitch to go away, but Ballard sure appreciated it.
