This rainy weather is really killing softball season for many high schools and colleges in Ohio lately... Any college teams in Ohio making any noise? I know Ashland is having a above average year along with Baldwin Wallace while Cleveland State and Ohio State have really been struggling since day 1 of this season.. Any thoughts of what school will make the regionals and CWS predictions?

Hard to get much discussion about college going on here for some reason.

Regional rankings are out for D3 finally. Ohio Northern, John Carroll and Mt Union are all ranked in the top 8 in the central region. Adrian with a handful of Ohio kids is hosting regionals and ranked 5th in region. Can't say I understand how they figure those rankings when you have a team that is 22-2 in region ranked behind teams with 5, 6, and 7 losses in region.

No Ohio D1 team is even sniffing the top 25, though that school up north is ranked #1. Kent is leading the west division in the MAC but is under .500 overall.

Weather pretty much wiped out the last week of games, but looks like I will be taking a road trip today to see the DD play. Somehow they have a game scheduled on the only day it's not going to rain all week. :)

Mason High school's Christin Miller is playing for Ohio Northern. She was a two time OH DI All-State Pitcher and a terrific short stop and the roster shows her playing outfield this year for ONU. I saw that she's hitting .485, Fielding %.846 and she recently hit a game winning home run (slapper). NICE!

I'll toss in a "college comment". Obviously, it starts with pitching, but the college teams that are doing well this year have one thing in common... HITTING. Just look at some of the Ohio DI team batting averages - some are pathetic.

Watched a great "pickup" game at Buckeye field this evening. OSU squeaked one out in eight innings against YSU, final score 2 to 1. For being so close to this place, this was my first time to the new OSU digs. Really nice place.
