Over the years I've followed the d4 votes pretty closely , DD's HS was normally ranked , last year the first couple d4 polls were all jacked up .

Gahanna is the real deal. They have big bats throughout the lineup, some good speed, lots of future college players.
Saw them tonight.....solid team. Pick Central is also very strong.
At this stage of the year, it's all about chest pumping. What make the final determination is who is playing on June 6th (or 7th...whenever the State Championship game is being played) in Akron).
These other teams who were not mentioned....Perry, Mason, Walsh...they will show up when the time counts. Early June.

Walsh has spent a lot of time early this year beating teams from surrounding states, so it's understandable if no one knows how they are doing. As stated before, everyone will know when it counts. Stark County is a complete meat grinder this year with some amazing players having amazing performances. Sure to be memorable for all their fans.

This weekend at the Wendy's Classic, unranked Walsh Jesuit defeated Mount St. Dominic out of New Jersey 2/1. Dominic went on to defeat Perry 6/1, and D1 # 1 ranked Ghanna 5/4.

Walsh then defeated D2 #1 ranked Hebron Lakewood 15/4. Granted, Hebron was without their starting pitcher so that is why the score was so lopsided. However, Lakewood had just beaten Perry 2/0.

On Saturday Walsh defeated D1 # 2 ranked Lebanon 9/1 in the championship game for their pool. The prior day Lebanon had beaten Gahanna 8/4.

Add to all of this the fact that unranked Hoban went 3/0 in their pool and defeated 0/3 Elyria (D1 # 3 ranked) in their final game, and that should be an indicator of how worthless these coaches polls are. The only poll that counts is who leaves Firestone Stadium with the championship trophy in June.

Not sure why he reported scores because he's actually saying so much for reporting scores is also worthtless throughout the season because unless you win last game in Akron no one cares!

Nope. Never said that. As I illustrated, when the defending D1 state champs who are returning the core of their team, and a D2 semi-finalist who is also returning the core of their team, aren't ranked, yes, that proves this to be a worthless poll.

If they are going to put the effort into a poll , I wish it were somewhat accurate . Just in the ball park would be better than the first poll ever year .

LOL! You stole my thunder ACP. I was gone this weekend so was just now getting the chance to come on here. I am sure that if the D1 state title was no big deal in week 1, then the expert panel isn't going to care much about the Wendy's Classic results. You really have so much more to consider than just talent and W/Ls in producing these polls.
