Wendy's Winter Classic

My Daughter is packing to head off to the Classic as I write. I'm wondering what the weather is supposed to be like in Ashland. Her High School team had their second game frozen out in a row tonight, and the weather doesn't look much better for the weekend. Does anyone live in the area and have a feel for the conditions of the fields?
I guess what I'm really wondering is what's the Classic's track record like for getting the games in when the weather is bad? I hope they get to play, but the temperature is suppossed to be below freezing tomorrow night with wind. Is it to late to pack up and move the whole tournament to Georgia?

Does anyone else that frequents this site have a daughter that's playing this weekend? This type of tournament should be a good test for the teams. My daughter's team is playing the team from Louisville,
Greenville, and Canfield. They all look to be strong teams. So hopefully the weather cooperates enough so that the games can be played.

Bundle UP! Today will be the best day 48-33. No snow, Wind has died down. Saturday ugly.
1/2 inch of snow overnight. 48-31. Sunday even worse. Only good news the wind factor. Very little wind.
They got two in last night. I plan on going to the 6:45 Hoover vs Westerville South. Couldn't ask for a better match up in Divn 1 softball in the state of Ohio. I just put on my golf rain suit and then bundle up and hit the Hot drinks.

DD's team played last night - very cold, windy, and sleet the whole game. It was not a pretty game, but we got the win. It was a real test with the elements!

Game that was supposed to be after ours was moved to today - which is a good thing because our game was an hour delayed due to extra inning of play in the Dalton vs Keystone game, and our game did not finish until 9:15pm.

At least there is sun shining today!

NCH beat Westerville South 1-0 in a great pitching match-up, Hoovers pitcher Simpson pitched a very good game and kept the Cats off guard for most of the game giving up 2 or 3 hits and striking out 12 for the victory.South's pitcher Byers (DD) gave up 1 hit and struck out 10 keeping the state champs at bay for the most part. an error in the 6th inning proved to be the down fall for South, as NCH took advantage of the miscue and scored the winning run from third. Nice game to watch even though it was a bit cool,(Here I thought shorts and a tee shirt would do) Good Luck to Hoover and hope to meet up very late in the season!!

Sat right behind the plate for the Westerville/Hoover game. Theese two pitchers made the ball dance. The movement was great. One of the best high school games I have seen.

I think Hoover did run rule the team from Alabama- I believe Sparkman (Ala) pitched their # 3 pitcher (Was that a mistake)and paid for it. Westerville South saw their #1 and beat them 3-2 -This was a great game as well as a milestone for Coach Jerry Kelbley winning his 500th game! South then came back in the second game and lost to Oak Park (Ill) 7-1 in the snowy December ..... I mean April weather.
Congrats to Coach Kelbley !!
Very Nice weekend, and some great competition,Thanks to all the hard workers who made it worth while.

North Canton Hoover did run rule Sparkman (AL) 8-0... and due to the inclimate weather, the rest of the games were cancelled.
