That's good to hear. Was worried that City wouldn't work them because it is Saturday.

"Someone" worked on the city diamonds to remove the water. Not saying who...
They will be dragged and lined at 6:00 AM. Everything looks good for Sunday.

It's TRUE NO REFUND the people running this tournament wouldn't even consider any portion of a refund. It was brought to their attention that quite a few teams were willing to walk away with partial refunds and the answer was NO REFUND..... Very high priced for single elimination only.....Our team will NOT be back !!!!!! nor will alot of teams all the coaches were talking and you know "word of mouth" can either make or break tournaments. Plus there were 13 teams in 12u alone at $355 which means justs on this group this tournament made $4615...........NO WAY DID THEY SPEND NEAR THAT

Its pretty bad when so many adults act like infants. They did the best they could with there hands tied by the city. The majority of the teams had no problems with the tournament. And they are giving refunds by you coming back next yr. BTW, Berliner didn't start until 4pm and it costs $500.00 and they were guarantee 8 games and only got 4.......

Actually the Capitol City tournament played the 4:00pm games on Friday then they cancled the rest of friday evening. Then they restarted at Noon on saturday. Also the cost was $425.00 not $500.00. Most teams did end up playing 5 games and they did offer any team that wanted to play an additional game to do so at 5:15pm. Not perfect but they did at least try.

Also, the Capital City Showdown did give refunds depending on the number of games completed and games were played on Saturday beginning at Noon. We completed 4 games and will receive a $100 refund so $325 for 4 games seems pretty average. I can understand the "hands being tied by the city" when you're using city parks, but that should be taken into consideration before hosting a tournament. I know of other tournaments held in city parks where refunds are still given when games are lost due to weather, regardless of whether a team is planning on returning the following year. It makes good business sense to do that. TD's would be better off refunding a few $$ this year to keep the coaches happy and returning in the future. Make them mad and they won't return and they'll be sure to spread the word to every coach they know.

Good points. I will bring it up with the TD and see if we can come up with something. I understand the frustration.

Who won the 16U division?

BTW, I think most of the 16U teams got 7 games in at Berliner this weekend.

Did Jim know about the no refund?

It is a TDs worst nightmare. Endless rain. But if you have a 4 game guarantee and then some teams only get one game and no refund, partial or full, then that is wrong.
