What a Way to Begin Compuware!

So, under the lights and under a perfect sky (not to mention driving up and hearing Queen's "we are the champions" on the radio), the 16u Classics Purple survived a 6-1 deficit from the Midland Magic to rally for a 7-6 win.

In the 4th inning, down 6-3, the game was actually called. The other team lined up and by all accounts, we were to lose our first pool game. No one had heard the timer, and i think the girls from the other team or maybe our coach yells, "we have 12 seconds!"--including an argument about coming all the way from Columbus" in the middle of Wolverine country)--so we go back to the dugout to start the 5th. We hold and then it gets more interesting.

After an rbi single to make it 6-4, the batter was called out on an illegal substitution because from all the excitement of the last inning, the ump didnt report the entry! (dont blame statman!)

then we ended up loading the bases on some well-placed grounders and hops, while our 9th batter comes up with 2 outs, and drives in the 3 runs with a triple. go figure!

i had to share the news from up north as we represent Ohio again tomorrow! can't get any better than that
