What are some of the better spring/summer tournaments at the 10U level?

Indiana team played in 12U Sluggerfest last year, looking for some of the traditionally strong 10U tournaments in Ohio.

Lancaster Early Bird last year had 12 teams with half of them being top ten or honorable mention in the rankings. It was very well run and a great value.

May want to check out the beavercreek 10U events on Apr 30-May 1 and May 7-8 for some early events. Last year was first year that beavercreek has focused on doing 10U tournaments. I wasn't the TD so I don't have a list of teams readily available. I think both events had around 8 teams (the first one last year did get rained out)-- I saw the 2d event and it had at least 3 strong teams in it.

Beavercreek is located just east of Dayton on US35. Go to this websire for more info.

It would be easy for all of us to push our own tournaments and tell you they have the best competition, but if you want the best 10u competition the Laser Nation by Invitation was the best competition hands down last season. However, there are many other tournaments that have solid teams and will provide a challenge for your team.

Some of them:

May---LANCASTER EARLY BIRD. As Mad Hornet posted above. Wish I would have brought my 10u team down to that one last year.
June-- AKRON SUMMER SLAM. Draws teams from NE Ohio and Western Pa. Title game is played in Firestone Stadium where the Akron Racers play.
June-- LASER NATION-- 6 of top 10 teams from Ohio plus Center Grove & Indiana Extreme along with Team Michigan who won Pony Nationals
July-- STINGRAYS. Again 6 of the top 10 teams in the state were there last season.
July --GAPSS. Last year wasnt as strong top to bottom as previou years but tradionally very strong.

Just my two cents. Hope to see your 10u team at an Ohio Tourney in 2011.

That is a pretty good list Jeff. Lasers and Stingrays were both meat grinders last year.

Thanks Mad Hornet !

The LGSA really tries to provide a good tournament for the girls and the turnout last year was tremendous. Now that the LGSA and Ohio Glory have come together we are looking forward to the 2011 tournament.

Would be nice to see the Thunder Elite teams in Lancaster as they are from my " Old Stomping Grounds " in the Northeast . Maybe exchange some Ytown stories, both old and new.

I agree with Jeff on the Stingray and Laser Tournaments. Pool play was like the semifinals of most 10U tournaments. Hornet is right on with the Lancaster Tourney. I will be taking my 11u team back there for the 3rd year. Great early season competition and Donny and his crew do an outstanding job. It may be one of the "best values" available.
