What are your must-haves for the road?

This may have been posted before, I am not sure. I am still fairly new here.

The travel season is starting gear up and I want to know what you feel are must-haves to take on the road with you for games every weekend. Are there things you pack and just leave in ther car for the season? For us frugal parents, what do you bring to help save money on meals? (because we all know travel ball is costly enough) I would love to hear any and all ideas.

I always bring enough water and gatorade for the entire weekend. It is very cost effective to buy it and bring it instead of purchasing from concession stand. Some tournaments depending on pool play schedule, as a team would tail gate. Have lunch meat for sandwiches, lots of fruit and snacks for the team to share. This would always save some money and the girls liked the down time. Sundays are usually a different situation, the game times are closer together so you have to eat when you can.

Don't forget sunscreen and plenty of water. Many parks will not let you bring in food or drink. Bring fruit (bananas, apples, oranges, and grapes are the best) and pack a cooler and go back to the car to eat. I think the best sandwiches for your daughter would be PBJ or peanut butter and banana. I would avoid stuff like mayo, spicy, and acidic foods. Avoid carbonated beverages for your daughter during and between games, the CO2 depletes the amount of oxygen in the body. Your daughter should drink plenty of water and also an electrolyte replenisher like Gatorade. I have my daughter alternate between water and Gatorade. Another thing I try to keep in my car is Handi Wipes and anti-bacterial hand wash.

You can always access a thread from last year -- Travel ball rookies -- That had a voluminous amount of suggestions that were extremely helpful and LMAO funny.
