All of the roster ball teams have morphed into one of the hundreds of new "travel teams" and daddy is now an elite travel ball coach.

I always thought roster ball was akin to rec or community ball.

AnotherDad hit the nail on the head.

Along the same lines of No Parent Wants To Admit That Their Daughter Didn't Make Varsity As A Freshman, we also have No Parent Wants To Say That Their Daughter Is Only Playing Rec Ball. Which, as someone else mentioned, is why we now have so many watered-down travel teams.

A sign of the times, I suppose.

Either that, or we're losing 'em to the Dark Side. Does anyone know the numbers for that "sport" where you run around a kick a ball into a net?

That kicking sport has jumped the shark and many of the good athletes are picking up ******** sticks.

Oh, La cross.... I didn't know it was a bad word either. (And I thought he was talking hockey, or drum, or pixie!)

:D

That carrying stick game has always been a bad word, thanks to JoeA.

It's a layer of ball, why do people knock it? If your daughter is too awesome to play that layer then just come out and say it. Then be aware that the layer above what your daughter is playing probably things your coaches are the same way.

Such snotty people on this forum.

Oh C'mon WM 83, it's been a long-standing joke on here. La crosse players are athletes, we all know it. Or at least I do. And they get plenty of athletic scholarships.

My daughter isn't too awesome to play la crosse, she's too old. She really doesn't play much of a part in anything I post, except to provide me with real life experience on having been a parent of a player.

Haven't been called snotty in like 50 years. IMHO, you are barking up the wrong tree. But that's just my opinion.

Here I thought girls rugby was the new "cat's meow". We had 80 girls at my dd HS tryout this year. Helps being the state champs, but 80 is a huge number. It is better than 10% of the student body.
