What is a good ERA in softball

I would like to know what is a good ERA, I notice that jamer had said that his DD has a ERA at 2.50 for WKH. Thanks ! ! !

I think wins or loses are more impotant but again my DD does not pitch.You pitch against a team who don,t hit the ball really good give up no runs,then you pitch against a team who scored 5 runs but you win that game too.You have 2 wins and now look at era. I think wins and loses mean more.

If we can keep our pitchers close to or under 2.0, I'm satisfied.

Last year, we averaged a little over 5 runs a game for the season. That's enough of a diferentiation to have a nice season.

The Shortridge girl is top 5 in the country and her team Keller HS is ranked #2 in the country. They just beat my daughers school this weekend to advance in the Texas HS playoffs.

I think jbam said it all. I lost count of high school games where weak fielding easily turned a routine out into a hit, depending on who's keeping the book. In my opinion, tournaments like Sluggerfest, Compuware, Aunt Rosies, Stingrays, Loudenville etc. give a much better indication of a pitcher's strength and talent. Just ask any Div. I college coach.

Ifubuildit - Any idea what Kristen Rigsbees ERA is? She pitches for Frisco. She and DD played/pitched together since they were 9. She moved, we moved but we still keep up, but haven't seen her ERA. I know she's doing pretty good at the plate too.

Frisco also had another pitcher Jamie Weidert. Jamie took pitching lessons from me for a while. Understand she is headed for the University of Minny sodas do be a golden gopher. Kristen was injured most of last year and didnt pitch much at all until this HS season. As far as I know they are still in the playoffs.

Thanks for the info. Actually, I think the injured pitcher from last year was Mallory Stone. Last year was Kristen's 1st year in Frisco and I think she surprised a few people since she was a sophomore and from Indiana . The last game update I have from them is from 5/3. Kristen pitched and they won. Not sure when they play again. If you get the opportunity to see them play, tell her the cdm's said hi and go get em stinger ringer.

Your right is was Mallory that was injured. Got them confused. Do you know what select team Kristen is playing for this summer? I will probably have a better chance of seeing her then. My daughter plays for the Texas Playmakers out of Garland. We get out that way a lot for tournaments in McKinney and Allen.

I know that she is playing on a Gold team. Is there a team called the Travelers out of Misquite??....okok I know I spelled it wrong. I'll probably talk to her mom either today or tomorrow. I'll ask and let you know.

It may be the Travelers. They are a solid ball team. We squared off against them last year in a tournament. If she was pitching she is pretty good at her craft.

We won 1-0 but it was a hard fought victory.

Just talked to Kristen's mom. She is playing for Traveler's and it most likely was her that you faced last year. She is an awesome pitcher and even better kid. She and my daughter had been a tag team since first year of 10's through first year of 16's. They switched off pitching and playing 3rd, batted 3rd and 4th, laughed, cried and fought together. Truly sad when they moved summer before last, then we moved. We plan on visiting after Nationals. Again, if you have the opportunity to see her play, give a yell for me "Go Stinger Ringer" and give her mom a hug for me. I told her not to panic if some strange man gave her a hug at a tournament.

I will look for them. We should cross paths sometime this summer. I may go out this Friday and watch their playoff game. Not sure if the lovely wife will let me or if I have to take her out to dinner.

It should be a real good game. I love how the playoff games are played there. Best 2 out of 3. If I understand correctly, the home team chooses if it is winner takes all or best 2 out of 3. They have a good pitching staff so they always take best 2 out of 3. Kristen's mom said that she will most likely be pitching the first game. If she isn't pitching she will be playing 3rd. I'm jealous. Wish I could see it too.
