The coach has her sitting on the bench while other players that are not as good in certain positions play every game and continue to make numerous errors.
If another parent on my dd's team was talking about my dd or her teammates like this, I wouldn't be happy, at all.

He has her bunt knowing full well she struggles with bunting. She is a hitter.
She should do whatever the team needs her to do. If you can't bunt, you probably aren't a very well rounded hitter.

We have played in 2 tournaments (a total of 8 games) and have lost every game but 1.
My dd has been on teams with worse records than this... it's rough, I understand.

Now, her batting is going down hill and she is losing her desire to play.
She is probably facing better pitching.

We are beyond frustrated. She is wanting to work on getting a softball scholarship, but at this point is ready to quit. Are all travel teams like this?
If she wants to quit after 2 tournaments, she probably should, she might not have the tenacity it takes to compete at a higher level. It's not about failing, it's about how she reacts to failing that shows if she can do it.

And BTW, travel ball is wonderful and a great experience, but it's also disappointing and will make her work harder than she probably has in her life. The big gains she will recieve from travel ball will not be the ability to toss a ball, but the life lessons she picks up along the way.

Good luck!

You make your first post ever on this site on a weekend & a holiday during the summer. This is when many are playing & few are reading the site. You wrote this afternoon and got one response this evening. You then get mad. Whatever you post, some will agree and some will disagree. But you can't act all defensively if one or more doesn't give you the answer you are looking for. Not sure what answer you were looking for to begin with. Tryouts for next season will begin in about about 6-7 weeks. Have your DD continue to work hard, show her worth and make a good decision for next season.

If your skin is so thin that you get upset over someone's answer to your post, travel sports likely aren't the right place for you.

If you can take off the rose colored goggles, lose the victim mentality and respect that the coach probably has reasons for what he/she is doing (even though you may not agree), then you might actually have a shot of enjoying your kid's athletic career.
