I haven't seen this before and I was just wondering what other organizations would do?

We are currently faced with this situation....

What would your organization do if you had originally entered your team into a tournament. Paid your entry fee almost two months in advance, then have a situation arise where your team is unable to attend. Gave the TD a three and half week notice that you weren't coming. (notice was in before his cutoff date for pulling out) TD says that he will refund your fees if full, but has yet to do so. The tournament has been over now for going on 3 weeks. This has been a total of almost 7 weeks since you informed the TD your team wasn't coming.

What would you do?

Have you established a dialogue with the TD? Did you notify the TD in writing or get any confirmation of your timely withdrawl? Did they fill your spot in the tourney and was that a stipulation of a refund?

Many TD's are willing to refund if they find a replacement. Send me a PM with the name of the tournament.

I would try emailing the TD again as I know with our own league here I get those emails and forward them onto the treasurer and sometimes things slip through the crack and 5 weeks later the mom emails and says "hey, no check yet" and the process starts over again to the treasurer, etc...

Yes we have established a dialouge with the TD. It is in writing that we pulled out before the cutoff date and yes the tournament was filled afterwards. This however was not a stipulation for the refund. The TD offered to refund 1/2 the money at the time of pullout and the other half after the tournament was complete. We just recieved the first half this past week. (6 1/2 weeks later) I have been in contact with the TD on several accasions and he kept saying the treasurer was sending it out. We don't want to have to wait for another 6 1/2 weeks to get the other half.

I just recieved a PM from the TD and he has said again, the remaining balance was to be sent out today. I will not disclose the team organization if I recieve it in the next few days. If I do not, then I will PM the organizations name to anyone that wants it.

Sounds to me like they are making a sincere effort to get you your refund, but I don't understand the 1/2 now 1/2 later thing. Seems like it would be easier to track a single entry in the books than two seperate ones. To each their own though.
