I have been involved with my DD for the past 13 years in softball and we as a family shared an incrediable loser's bracket come from behind Tournament win. I have seen before when the girls were younger come from behind and win the Tournament at 6 games but yesterday they came to the field at 830 am and we left the field at 1120 pm with a Trophey with winning 8 back to back games with no inbetween game rest. This was 18u Tournament and I have never seen 10 ladies give there all from top to bottom with the passion and dedication and the love of the game to win this. They got ever better as the day went on and the final was 9-1. Hit after hit and play after play was amazing. People all around us could not believe what was going on and us parents were just flat whipped just watching. I wish all of you could have witnessed this outcome. I can't wait till this weekend to see them play again. Great job ladies.

8 straight games must be some kind of record. ?My question is what do you do between games to help keep up their stamina? ?Our team seems to peter out after about 3-1/2 games.

George, we all kept wondering when they would fall but for some reason they just did not complain and in the 5th game you could see there attiudes change to 5th gear and they never looked back. 95 degree weather, muggy and dirt from head to toe. Coaches talk all the time about heart and the willingness to keep going and it paid off. They should have not been in losers bracket but it happened and they did it with dedication.

I saw a U12 team 5 years ago that lost their 1st game at 8:30 on Sunday, come back and win 5 in a row and then loose the 1st game of the championship in 95 degree heat and 95% humidity. It was impressive to watch. They hit the wall in the last game. Eight games is unbelievable. Congrats to that team. Give them next weekend off. lol

Here's what Stallion2 wrote about the Grove City Nightmare 14U:

"Re: Teams in 14u ASA states this weekend
Reply #35 - Yesterday at 7:38pm Congratulations to the Nightmare for winning the ASA State Title.

After a slow start and getting a major ?lesson? from the Lady Irish that you have to bring your best every game the sleeping Giant finally woke up and won the next 8 games in convincing fashion.
Even though they had to play 2 more games on Saturday and 6 more on Sunday in the 90 plus heat they rose to the occasion and won the remaining 8 games by at least 8 runs per game with 7 games being run ruled.

Here's hoping the Nightmare has learned their lesson that you cannot be complacent because someone will knock you off.

Again congratulations to the Nightmare for Winning both the NSA and ASA State Titles, I?m sure that you will represent Ohio well at the Nationals."

Ahh,the memories!!
Had to pull this memory out from the "Anuals"

Back in 2004 Marysville Tournament
We won 4 games in a row leading into Sunday mornings play.
Slipped up & lost 1st game on Sunday morning(8:00am)
Proceeded to play & win next 6 games in a row(15 min break between games) finishing up at 10:00pm.
My DD had like 34 at bats for the weekend(thats half a summer season for most players).

The Tournament was AFA State Indiana in Martinsville. The team is 16u Indy Edge coached by Keith Smith. It's been two days since this accomplishment and I'm still in awe and very tired.

Get R Done, congrats on a very impressive tournament, winning 8 games in a row is a monumental task! I think I saw your team at Compuware? If so, your team is a class act, and good luck with the rest of your season. BTW, is your team at Stingrays this weekend? I always like watching the top teams in action!

Congratulations on the tourney! Sounds like a fun time.

But I have to ask...

Did your daughter have to catch every game?

And how's that Nokona catcher's mitt holding up! ?;)

BOLD1, ?That sounds similar to ours. 2005 at Marysville my daughters 12u team won their 1st game at 8:00 am, lost the next one, then reeled off 5 wins in a row to get to the championship, only to face the Stingrays. We lost 4-0 and finished at 10:30pm. That was a total of 8 games with 15 minutes between each game. Amazing. Those ladies just wouldnt give up.That was one of our first tournaments in travel ball, and probably my best memory so far.

Someone i talked to about the tournament said "I cant believe you made them play that many games"
my reply was " I didnt make them, they could of lost any one of those games and went home" LOL.

Bretman, she caught games 2-4-6-8 and the last one looked and sounded like it was the last game of her career. They all were so focused on winning the Tournament at that point. The Nokona is doing well and we bought another so we have two now. One more Tournament and off to Nationals.
