You aren't kidding I've earned it!!!!!!!! And yes, she snuggles it every night!

Just don't go running into her room Christmas morning yelling, "SANTA CAME!" DD might have you looking for a new orbital socket.

OMG, if you are who I think you are (Mr. Twister) thank God above we didn't accept your offer to play for your team. I would have been disgusted everytime my DD played, or practiced ball. Couldn't have stomached it! Would have had to go elsewhere. Thank you merciful God for leading me to the the right decision....Thank you, thank you, thank you, Lord...Amen.

You never know. It might be Mrs. Twister. And with the Christmas season, it's always good to count your blessings.

Tried to make it through this thread, but sheesh, it's all over the place. Anyway, one idea I had to help "convince" your daughter is do a google image search on staph infections and have her take a look. Believe me it ain't pretty.

Better yet, take her to a hospital or nursing home and have her smell a staph infection. Worse smell I've ever smelled.

oh wow, how di I miss this one? Talk about scattery!

It's cool that we went to pants last year as a 16u team. Most girls should. If you wear the right color it makes you look more athletic, speedy and surely helps on those annoying softball-leg tans and becoming burned when sliding. Girls grumbled at first, but she loves them now. i would be gearing my girls in pants from the start. Baggy shorts and the no-sliders look must go, really looks unprofessional and cheap. When the college coach comes a knockin, they want to see an athletic girl hustling at all times and not afraid to slide. Short socks and the looks mentioned above should be forced to pay a gate fee, haha

and in Spano Dome, how can one not get mold in their lungs from all the moisture in that place? I'd be more worried that something slimy reaches up and attacks from the dirt (and the trickeration from an indy dreams 18u team) than staph

oh, and a buddy of mine got mersa this past summer, no fun whatsoever to get something like that...it was from a cut in the woods. Hazmat!

As the parent you have the right to force her to wear whatever you want or dont let her play.......If this is the same girl who refuses to wear a mask when pitching, you need to re-enforce who sets the rules in that house hold.

Dont try to convince....Tell !

Yeah, that will work up until the point that she says "fine, I guess I won't pitch anymore". Forcing somebody, especially a teenager, to do something
is not a proper approach in my opinion. Sure, you resolve my issue and have created many more. I rather her make the decision that it is best for her based on all the info and not because dad forced me to.

The whole give a man a fish, teach a man to fish....

"fine, I guess I won't pitch anymore".

Then you dont pitch anymore......I understand it's all easier than done.......I have a 19 year old and a 13 year old so i get to "convince" them everyday.....

I completely understand what your saying but at the same time.........I have dealt with

Dad i want this 2000 Grand Prix, Ok then you pay for it.......She decided to keep her 2006 Mustang that mom and dad pay for.

Dad i want to move out when im 18, ok as long as you pay for it.......she still lives at home.

Dad i dont want to do batting practice during the week. Ok then you wont play on weekends......she goes to batting practice.

Every choice has an outcome........

In my opinion its hte parents choice to look out for their kids.....at 16 they may not make the right choice that is in their best interest for them or their family.

Dad..I want to upgrade my phone..it is out-of-date..get a 3.5 and a job.

Dad..when I go to college..you going to help pay..it is known as a 4.0.

my DD's are athlete's but I stress that grades are more important. with that..no college.

They wouldn't be any problem if we had stayed out of their affairs. We have been over there killing them for near a century to faciliate the THEFT of their oil.

The last time you bashed something I tried to help you with a link to find a team in your area. The last time I looked, theft means you take something without pay. Well, we pay for that oil. Do you have a problem with us being there? The last thing I recall, Pres. Bush sent us over there to protect us from the extremists. Why, do you not remember 9/11? So before you bash veterans for doing their duty, you need to realize that if it wasn't for the Marines , Squids, Fly boys, and the boys) you couldn't say stuff like that.

As for the staph, I'm concerned. However, I do make sure that my DD's are prepped for a game. Do they get hurt, yes, but they also learn from it and are better prepared next time.

Another reason to play on turf

The game is much faster on turf. Slows the game down when you go outside.

I don't care about no staph, mold or fungus. Do any of the indoor places, turf or dirt, have walking tacos? As anyone ever grilled out at an indoor tournament (outside of course )?

I know the Spano Dome has walking tacos and I think the G-Plex does too. Never saw a grill at the indoors though...although it sounds like a good idea!!

there's no room in spano dome to stretch much less enjoy a walking taco...plus, that town, yugh! no cooking out ever in ohio past oct through april, it's continually drizzly or cold...although this season has been sunny and pretty, just cold, or maybe i just am happier about everything and couldnt care less

We lost a Varsity BB coach up here two years ago due to staph, and several football and wrestling programs were basically quarantined due to large outbreaks-I would take this fairly seriously. Where we practice, it is so cold the kids usually keep their sweats on. Now you all have me a lot more worried than I was before, so THANKS A LOT!
