When searching for tournaments what’s more important?

What the most important information your looking for, when searching for tournaments?

I’m not sure what’s more important now, but when I was searched for tournaments when I was coaching the most important information for me is listed below in the Order of importance. As you can see I didn’t list competition as one of my choices that I felt was important to me.

1 - Date
2 - Location
3 - Games Guaranteed
4 - Cost
5 - Sanctioning body

sorting them by dates for me makes it easier to surf around and find the ones i want to play in. when they are all slammed together with no dates, it becomes a mess

i would say level of importance for me as follows
1) date
2) competition
3) location

after thinking more about this I agree. Date is first then the rest.

Back when Rickie was doing tournaments ( 1990s-early 2000s), there weren't that many-- Sluggerfest, Ashland, Orrville, Westerville, Whitehall, and in northwest Ohio with Beavercreek. Toledo, and Greenville getting into the game. That was back in the day before OFC came along and revolutionized how softball tournaments were publicized -- prior to that it was all telephone calls and letters since email was fairly new and nobody knew what a text was.

Today, the number of events is almost overwhelming.

I think the A teams criteria could very well be different that B/C teams.

I am not sure how a regular tournament stacks up against a showcase event when it comes to deciding where to go.

Where does past experience with a tournament stand?
