Wondering if anyone knew where and when PONY Nationals will be for 2007. Especially 14U.

Thanks. :-?

Nothing announced yet - but coming soon.
I've "heard" that the leading candidate for 14u is in NC and that the other groups were very happy here.

Good luck, I hope you're right Dave!! Despite very adverse weather conditions, the 2006 PONY Nationals were a very enjoyable experience!!!

I'm familiar with ASA, NSA and USSSA. What is the difference between them and Pony or rather, what do you like about Pony?

The people -- Our team (Slammers) has been two PONY Nationals and the people treat you as family and make you feel like the tournament is being put on for the kids/teams, not the sanctioning body. We were in Virginia in 2005 and Vienna/Lordstown in 2006 and both were wonderfully run multiple age-group events.
You can't compare to ASA because ASA is a single age-group event at each site and ASA will NEVER be touched for competition.

Bear,
Any idea why Sterling Virginia is no longer in the loop???
The Little Slammers played there at 10U in 2005. I've been to numerous ASA 18Gold Nationals and other various age-group national tournaments with my three daughters' teams and I have to say that the ball fields in the Sterling area were without a doubt the FINEST I have EVER seen. simply magnificent. And the hosting people were outstanding as well.

Not sure. They may have decided not to bid on the Pony's any more, as they were courting ASA the last time I heard. They did have some nice fields though.

Same as just about any other. Place high enough in one of their National Qualifiers. Only ones on the OFC List right now are in Wheeling, WV, and Lancaster, OH, but there should be more posted in the next 30-60 days (you can usually find one just about every weekend from Memorial Day through the weekend after July 4th). Dave Anderson generally hosts a few Qualifiers at his place (http://www.thunderplexsports.com/tournaments/pony.cfm) in addition to hosting a few of the Nationals.

PONY Nationals are a 6 game guarantee. 3 pool, seeding into double elim with reentry. Winners of each elimination bracket face off in single elim championship play.

Cost is $500.

You will play ball every day. Despite the rain, all games took place last year.
