1-Bon Jovi -- I remember the days of him playing our Middle school dance and watching Richie Sambora on Friday nights in his prior band Prophet, before the big time... His 21/2 hr shows are what he picked up from Bruce's three hour shows...
2- Bruce Springsteen Even better when he'd just show up at a Jersey shore club and Just jam...
3- Styx (the original ones before Roboto show)
4- Journey
5- Queen

These bands are all stage bands that sound like their albums versus being a studio band that sound like garbage live....

I did see Bon Jovi once in a baseball stadium so I guess you can technically say it's ball related....

Gosh is it getting slow here talking about everything other than ball....

It depends on what you criteria for a good show is. As far as the whole 9 yards of pagentry, music, aura atmosphere, then Pink Floyd.

Sounding like the album: Scorpions hands down.

New rock: Godsmack and Disturbed put on good shows.

My personal favorite is Van Halen by far. Has been for a long time.

Don't know about any country acts. Although I think Shania Twain and Faith Hill would be really good with ear plugs. ;)

I gotta say as far as country goes, garth brooks was an outstanding show. He also plays small venues with numerous shows so no matter where you are, your pretty close.

Ringer,
I agree with you on Van Halen. Also my all time favorite band!!

The years with Sammy Hagar they put on the best shows.

Don't waste money going to see them on most recent tour(Dave's way to burnt), plus now Eddie is having Health Probs again!

We saw them up at Quickens couple months ago,not worth the money!!

Pre '85 VH was great BUT 5150 was great album. One of VH's best. They were really two different bands - Van Halen / Van Hagar. Both were great.

Is there really a better show than Jimmy Buffett? The audience's show alone wins.
AC/DC and KISS also great

Motley Crue ... just LOVE the roving camera into the crowd on the "babe hunt"
Kiss ... pretty awesome show :-*
Jimmy Buffet ... impossible to NOT be in a good mood, especially when they catch with a gallon of Margarita's rolled up in your lawn blanket at the Blossom gate, and you have to chug it or lose it :D

"Barney on Ice" ... is no slouch either. :-?

"Barney LIVE" at Universal Studios is much better, provided you don't get taken out by a baby toting Mom fighting for 1st row in the surround open seating.

It must be a slow day at the office...lol.

Pink Floyd...Seen them twice in 88 and 94 at Ohio Stadium...awsome baby!!!

Aerosmith... Back in the Saddle tour 86 at the Ohio Center...Best indiviadual performance I ever witnessed...was the last date on the tour and Ted Nugent opened up. I snuck to the front row twice and was removed twice and I was getting roughed up by a couple of security guards the 2nd time, and Steven Tyler paused in between songs and said **** the security guards come on up!!! Needless to say I spent the rest of the concert pinned against the railing in the front row and snagged a phsycadelic scarf that was one of many on the mike stand!!!

Judas Priest/Iron Maiden in 82 at the Ohio Center...My first concert at 15..oopps I'm giving away my age...lol.

Monsters of Rock...87...Nuarenburg, Germany...Scorpians, Def Leppard, Deep Purple, Cinderella and 3 other bands...I have severe memory loss half way through that one...lol.

Def Leppard...88...Legend Valley...it was hot, wet day but they rocked out!!!

Metallica...89 or 90... at Polaris...not enough toilets for Metallica. At first I honsestly thought that people were throwing there leather jackets...then it turned out to be the sod. At least I had enough sense not to venture into the mos pit...lol.

Great trip down memory lane. ;D

Jimmy Buffet!

A number of years ago while in Margaritaville in Key West, someone approached our table and asked if we liked the place. I looked up and it was Jimmy Buffet. He talked with us a while and then gave an impromptu show at the place. We had the table next to the small stage. Awesome.

On that same trip to KW I met and talked to Goldie Hawn and Kirt Russels. We also met Kelly McGinnis at her eating establishment. That was a trip of a lifetime.

Speaking of long strange trips, it was 15 years ago yesterday that my husband--a die-hard-Deadhead, traveled with his buddy from southwest PA to Cleveland to see a Dead show ::)that was the blizzard of '93 folks...And just last weekend he complained about taking our son to church (5 minute drive) in one inch of snow on a Saturday evening.... :p ::) :D
Good shows that I've seen---Springsteen a few times, Stryper a few times, Queen, George Thorogood (schedules his tours so he can catch some MLB games), CHEAP TRICK a few times, and one of my favorite local people (used to do his PR) B.E. Taylor, other good local Pittsburgh bands--Iron City Houserockers, Silencers, Donnie Iris, even saw some of these bands at places in Ohio. There was a club in Youngstown that burned down, then there was the Night Harbor in East Liverpool, the Merrymount in Wheeling...other places in St Clairsville and Steubenville that I can't remember names for...
My husband liked the Pink Floyd Shows (the flying pig), he was at the infamous Who concert, saw Alice Cooper, Kiss, Rolling Stones, ACDC (Bon Scott), Van Halen (hates Alex as a drummer), Rush, John Mellencamp,...too many to mention. One of the most visually interesting double-bill show he had seen was the very short in stature Blue Oyster Cult with Ted Nugent's really tall motor city madmen...

U2 was the second best show I have ever seen, I am afraid to say what the best was, but I trust it wont be held against me.

When I was a kid, I went to the Silverdome to see......The Jacksons on their "Victory" tour, that was a really cool show.

Also ran, I seen the Black Crows, they were very good.
