Who has the nicest fields?

I agree that the River Valley fields are very good.

I will also add that the fields at the Highland Community Park in southern Morrow County are very nice as well. They have the capability to put up 200 foot fences on all 4 diamonds which allows for a great deal of warmup area for teams. Lights for all 4 fields are in the works for 2010, which should make this complex even more inviting. Visit the HCP site at....

Goshen has a wonderful facility as well. They are new to the circuit, of course, but they drain wonderfully well. 11 diamonds, fences at all kinds of distances and temp fences are available to put up on those 300 ft fields.

Chillicothe has a wonderful unknown park as many teams at last Fall's event was amazed at the park since it is also not on the circuit. The fields were manicured and kept up by the park staff during the event. Temp fence could be put into place as well there. Big cost for the diamonds though as the fields have to be maintained by the staff.. which is union.. so include the union costs and the field rentals are very high.

Boardman Field of Dreams has awesome fields, tarps and all. The parking is absolutely horrible though.

Sorry but after the mess we encounter every time we have played at Tealtown, couldn't put them on on my list. Plus if it rains you are out of luck! The OSU fields that the Sting rays play on would be #1 if they had a fence. One good thing, is over the last 10 plus years, many very good fields now in the state of Ohio. Pickerington one of the best high school fields and complexes.

I'm a little biased... Pickerington is girls softball only.... it is never used for anything else with home run fences, covered seating, concessions, bathrooms, brick dust diamonds, the best field crews anywhere and lines and raking after every game. plenty of room to wam up.... If you haven't been to an Ohio Classics Tournament you are missing out www.ohioclassics.com June 26-28 shameless plug for our tournament,,,

Ray,

I'm thinking your backyard takes the #1 spot on this list after this weekend! ^_^!

Pickerington is probably the best place for tournaments. It has the overall package. As far as the fields themselves, Pacesetter was my favorite. They keep those fields really nice.

Joe - I liked Pacesetter too but they didn't have HR fences when we played their last.

David:

True, but I was thinking of just the dirt and the grass. I hate it when there are no fences, it changes the whole game for the worse.
