Congratulations to the 10U Diamond Dogs! Maybe some of the other Dogs coaches should take a page out of your book.

haha... it is mostly the coaching - treat the girls well and they will respond. These players must be pretty talented, too with the great success they are having.

I don't think its the coaching since I'm one of the coaches. The girls play the games and the coaches just hope the girls learn something and have fun. The girls came a long way from last fall at tryouts. We had 4 1st place and one 2nd place this year. Great bunch of girls and thanks to Dan, John and Pam for letting us have a great year. The diamond dogs org., players and coaches are great.

I think I need to explain myself. Apparently I ruffled some feathers. I never meant to imply that the other coaches in the organization weren't good. The Diamond Dogs organization has years of experience under it's belt. Good coaching throughout. I was just trying to spark some friendly competition amongst the organization.

To me it is very impressive that the 10u team was able to find the success that they did. They are a brand new team. For most of the girls this is they're first year playing together and they had a really good season. I have to attribute a lot of that to the coaching. The talent was there for sure, but it takes the coaches to get it all focused and headed in the right direction.

Gbas, your humble nature is part of what makes this all work. That is definitely one characteristic that helps one be a good coach. Leaving your ego aside and truly doing what is best for the team is huge. That is a trait that a lot of coaches in the game could stand to work on. And I don't mean just in this organization.

Once again, I say kudos to the 10u team, especially the coaches. Keep up the good work.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Gbas is one of my Coaches and did a wonderful job this year. But he is right. As we teach these girls we try to have them do it on their own, use their brain so to speak. We had a great group of girls with there own special perks, and they were very smart also. These kids did it together as a team. We played poorly at times with the top ten teams, and was defeated but it never got them down. They turned into a fundamentaly good team from when we started. I'm gonna miss some of the girls moving up and one of my Coaches. but I am proud as a Coach to see them get better at the end of the year, No matter who we played against. All the Coaches we faced this year were great and look forward to next year on the field somewhere, sometime.
