Wooster Rec. leag. looking for stiffer competition

Our 14-U and 12-U gold teams are looking into finding a league to challenge them more. If there are any rec. leagues that surround wayne co. with good compitition that would be interested in adding a team or two next summer please let me know ASAP.

I am from Creston and I am putting a team together for the 14u Gold division next summer. Are you saying that there is no competition in that league? Our rec league here in Creston is as bad as bad gets. I am looking for something better to give some kids some better chances when they get in HS in a couple years. How strong is your 14u Gold team? Do you have travel ball players on it?

I'm from Norton/Wadsworth area we play in the Quad county rec and some of the teams can be pretty tough.ask around to see if this will work for you.last year i believe we had 16 teams just in the 12U.

fpitchdad it's not that there isn't any competition. But we went undifeated during the reg. season and lost one during the play offs. And we have 8 eligable to come back again next summer for 14-U.

Wsfi, Thanks for the info. Have you ever tried putting the team in a tournament other then rec tournaments. Did this team come down to Bellville to GFOD and scrimage a 14u Thunder team a few weeks ago. Sorry for all the questions.

We went to the Copley tourney last year tied for sixth ( minus several of the rec. team girls ). Yes we were at GFOD at the open house. Four of our players couldn't make it so we picked up some extras. This is a new team we have put together for travel (14-U Sabers). 8 Wooster girls 2 Apple creek and 1 Ontario.

Well good luck to you in Travel ball next season. Travel ball is fun and very exciting and it doesnt even compare to rec ball. The competition is as good as it gets. I have 3 girls on this team I am bringing to The Wooster rec league that play on travel teams. The rest have never seen any competition. As I said before, our rec leagues up here in Creston are not good at all. We want to try to build a better program up here as to give girls that want to play HS softball the experience at playing at a higher level so they at least have some experience. I do have my work cut out for me.

fpitchdad Check your e-mail . I sent you an attachment on a clinic if some of your girls are interested. It starts Tue. and is run by the College of Wooster. They still have some openings.
