Has anyone attended the USSSA world series in Salisbury, Maryland? If so, any suggestions on hotels would be greatly appreciated. Some people would like to stay at the beach in Ocean City, but the hotel selection is overwhelming and I heard that the traffic is TERRIBLE in the summer. Is it better to stay in Salisbury? Thanks!

We were there a few years ago for ASA 16U Easterns.

Traffic between Annapolis and Salisbury is always heavy. Try to get in & out of town during "off peak" hours.
Stay in Salisbury. If you happen to get an afternoon/evening off, Ocean City isn't that far away for a beach excursion.
Be prepared for Florida-style humidity...

Played there before and I would stay in Salisbury or 20 minutes up the road just across Delaware state line not bad either. Ocean City maybe 30 miles plus traffic on weekends is heavy.

We played there the last two years. My suggestion would be to rent a house in Ocean Pines. The houses vary in size and dollar amount. Last year we had a house that five families stayed in and was very enjoyable. You are 10-15 minutes from Ocean City and within 30 minutes to most of the parks that you will be playing.

I agree about the traffic between Annapolis and Salisbury being very heavy. We sat in traffic for 2 1/2 hours right before the Bay Bridge.

Here is the company that we used for the rentals:

Hileman Real Estate

I hope that this helps.

Thanks for your replies with details on who to contact. We currently have something booked, but it can be cancelled so I will look into your suggestions and see how it compares.

Stay in Salisbury.

That is an understatement concerning traffic. I remember when the town was small.
