It's interesting article. Apparently their religion forbids girls playing sports. The team that forfeited actually lost twice to this girls team. During those games, the girl sat out to respect the other teams wishes. Her school does not have softball.This was the championship game and she didn't want to miss it. I wouldn't want to miss it either.

Stupid religious fanatics. My wife was the first girl Little League player in our area (late 70's). She said she was shunned at first but the more they seen how good she played the more they warmed up to her (her team). Wasn't long before she was one of the guys. Our DD was the only girl on a flag football team when she was around 7. They welcomed her right from the get go. She was their best receiver.

And how much do we need to know? If we found out they collect food for the needy would that make their intolerance and cruelty more acceptable?
