What if your daughter doesn't play HS ball? Group interest?

My daughter is a senior and is not playing her senior year. There's a slew of reasons, mostly relating to the coaches and nepotism. Anyways, she has some interest from some colleges, all from travel ball, so we're going to take this season to focus her getting better and preparing for college next year.

So my question is, what do girls do when they aren't playing HS ball? Is there groups that meet up to get work in? I know travel can't meet up, but I would love for her to still get some work with girls that pitch, not just me doing front toss.

Is anyone interested in working out a few times a month? We're in the Mason area.

Thanks for any input you may have!

the players that I have had recently on my 18u teams skip playing HS ball, kept working with their lessons, (catcher + pitcher), as well as speed strength and agility stuff.

And ironically, the pitcher was in the Mason, OH area as well.

That's good to know. She was really worried. She has had a bad 3 years of softball at her HS. Despite batting over .400 every year on JV, they won't even let her sniff varsity (says her fielding is inconsistent despite her .991 fielding percentage). But we've moved on, but I showed her this because I didn't want her to think she was falling behind, or for to lose confidence. We have had so many more meaningful coaching experiences in travel ball than HS. She honestly can say her HS coaches have never given her any coaching beyond keep your hands up and don't swing so hard.

Thanks again and if you hear of girls around her age or younger looking to work out, and screw around on the weekend and help each other, please let us know. Your screenname sound familiar. Do you coach?

I'm curious to know what colleges and at what level that are interested in her? What travel program has she been working with over the years? I'd like to know and sure others would as well.
Well she is going to college in Washington State, so there are some NAII and D3 colleges interested. Once D2 (Puget Sound University) has spoken to us off and on for a few months, but nothing concrete. Since they can't see her play in tourneys since we're in Ohio, they've invited her to come out for workouts. She has played for Ohio Power, Diamond Elite, and one other that is currently disbanded. This past Fall we just subbed for A level teams as we decided not to formally sign with a travel team since she won't be in Ohio this summer. But, mostly high B/low A teams/tourneys. I did a lot of promotion of her skill via Instagram, posting highlights, making videos to share with coaches out of state. That has helped the recruitment process as a lot of her interested teams follow her on IG and watch her progression.

She came to softball late from basketball, but picked it up quickly. Has hit .400 with power every year of travel and HS softball since Freshman year. But she understands that college is to help her prepare for a career. If she plays, great, if not that's okay too! I try to help her understand that there is more to her than just softball. The HS she "attends" (Top 3 in Cincinnati, so I'll let you guess) has some major issues with favoritism, nepotism, and overall shitty coaching. Her inability to crack the varsity team has definitely hindered her recruitment chances. But she is a full-time CCP student at UC, will graduate HS with an associates from UC, so she is has her choice of colleges currently, and some don't have softball like Gonzaga for example. So we'll see what the future holds.

Please keep us updated on her progression. I'm sure there are a lot of people that would be interested in the process and how things turn out.

Could you share which colleges are eyeing her talents? Also, I'm intrigued about her involvement in travel programs. Many would appreciate knowing her journey!
