I'm very eager to get the season started, I'll send you my feedback we will all meet at a friendly hosted by Thunder elite real real soon.I'm always in the mood for an educational lesson.
I, for one, am looking forward to watching lasers orange play HOO now. I think it will be rather educational for ddjr0429. Will be eager to hear his take after the game. :)

I usually don't put a lot of faith in friendlys but that one, is unreal...

I think it all will work itself out on the dirt. Our team has done nothing in the last 15 wks except drills and core and tee work...but we are coaches not gatherers. Good luck to all 12u's. See u at the ballpark

Are you implying that the teams mentioned in this post do not have proper coaching, or am I misreading your post? From what I have seen all of the teams mentioned in this thread have very good coaching.

I'm not trying to disagree with the Thunder Elite, but Who have Laser Orange beat to be in the top two, to put them in there as a new team simplybecause they are "Lasers" is ridiculous. I'm not gonna toot my own horn, but we have a H.O.O that will turn heads and compete with either of these teams, and lets also not rule out the Classics00, also a very solid team. Thank you that is all.

My assessment of these teams had nothing to do with their name and every thing to do with the fact that my current 13u played them both last year when we were 2nd year 12s and they were 11s. I agree Classics 00 and HoO are also very good but it remains to be seen if they are in the same class.

In my opinion, this poll is pointless until the girls get out on the field this spring/summer. At the very least, it has been somewhat entertaining seeing peoples opinions.

Ice Orange now Laser Orange was not an all 11 year old team last year, they had at least 3-4 12 year olds on the team. Also I believe that only 6 of the original 13 stayed on that team.

In your opinion ?
many 12u teams have played multiple fall tournys and many indoor tournys and friendlys since try-outs ended in august ..... i dont think having a preseason poll is that out of the ordinary to see what teams are doing and who is working hard ! is it same as regular season probably not . so we can call it 2013 12u PRESEASON poll ??? BINGO

OK, admit it or not, most of us like these polls and the general banter that goes along with them!! These polls are dumb, we get that, BUT... we enjoy them. If you dont feel the same, I understand that. But I would like to ask a question about how most of you vote:

Lets say you look at the 10 ten that someone wrote about 5 or 6 posts ago. How do you rate your owe team? Do you place them above the teams that you beat in the fall and winter, do you project how your team "compares" to other teams you havent played. Do you look at the teams you have beat, look at the teams they have beat and judge yourself better. Im interested to hear how others compare and rate teams.

My dd played 12u last yr for the Ohio emeralds (Lesh). I never voted, but the emeralds were in the top 10/12 every week. I think a lot of the voting is a popularity contest. Not to say the emeralds didnt deserve to be where they were, but some folks didn't like the fact that they were in the top 10 being that they didn't play lasers, or stingrays, or some of the other big tournys. The emeralds were 53-12 last yr winning 5 tournaments and finishing 2nd in two others. Good year by anyone standards, but they did win a couple of sub par tournaments. Anyway, do teams deserve to get credit when they don't play the big tourneys? Who knows.

Perhaps the thread should have read "who are some of the top 12u teams to watch for this season". Nobody said you have to rank them in order yet. Threads like this can be beneficial for 12u coaches to know who to look for, which tournaments to play etc.

Being somewhat of a newbie on here, but not in softball, I am somewhat shocked at how much **** the person who started the thread took. There are some useful posts on this thread, however quite a few pointless posts, insults, folks stirring the pot, etc. Some act like there feelings are hurt perhaps because there team hasn't been mentioned yet? Some want to tear down teams perhaps because they don't like the team or organization?

Bottom line, make the thread useful and fun for coaches and on lookers. As mentioned, a true "poll" cannot be started until they all hit the dirt this spring. And even then, nobody on this thread is playing the game, the girls are... If the dd's got on here and read how the adults were acting, they would think we were all morons!:D

Some may even think the idea of adults doing polls for 10-U and 12-U girls is moronic ... just saying ...

As a Voter in the Polls the past 4 seasons and running the 10U poll for 2 yrs, I have some thoughts on how I base my votes and also what I have seen from other Voters/Coaches.
** Head to head results are always taken very serious, However if team A beats Team B in pool play and its the other way around say in the semi finals or Championship with team B winning, then the Bracket play win is the one that is more important.
** The tournaments or competition you play. There are teams that hang around their hometown and only play tournaments within 40 minutes away. They might win them all, but ultimately this team will not get the Love of the voters and will top out in the #8-10 range of the poll. If you want to be taken serious, your team must play the top 7 teams on a regular basis or top out of State teams.
**From what I have seen in 2 yrs of running the 10U poll, there is very little of voters leaving out or intentionally placing a top 3 team down to the bottom or out of the top 10 completely. Occaisionally a "scratch your head" kinda of vote comes in, but for the most part, the 8-12 coaches that vote every week take their vote serious in trying to show those interested who the 10 best teams are.
