12U Coaches' Poll - Week of 6/15/09

Coach are you guys playing any tournaments in Central Ohio. Being from Warren (Howland 88), I know how beautiful Y-town is this time of year but you guys should plan to come down to C-bus at least once or twice per year (GAPSS and Stingrays are two good ones to plan on) so we get a chance to play. I had hoped we might see you at Spano in Feb but to no avail.

We have played the classics a few times, they are for real. I would love to see them play those two laser teams. It will be some good softball.

I'm pretty sure you won't see the Gold unless you're playing up in 14's or 16's. They qualified for ASA/USA Nats their first week out and are playing up the rest of the season as far as I know. They are playing 14's at GAPSS and i hope I get to see em. Maybe even play em. I predict that they go deep at Nationals.

Tried hard to get team to attend GAPSS but with the holiday we couldn't get enough families to committ. Would of loved to have played you guys along with the Doom, Wave,Classics and the rest of the high quality teams from out that way. It would of been a great measuring stick to see how we stack up on the field and not just in the polls. Besides the Riptides we have also Played the NEO Dynamite And the Breckville Lady Bees. Guess I'll have to push harder to get them to come to C-bus next year. Good luck to you guys the rest of the summer.

Good luck to you as well coach. Next year, I will make a point to 'come home' for one of your tournaments as well. That way I can show the girls the places of all my athletic achievements (all lies of course but they won't know.)

Gold is playing 12U at Compuware and Stingrays. Having played them and watched them this past weekend - they are the real deal.

My DD plays for Doom96. I am not 100% sure the the #'s but to the best of my fading memory, Doom96 has played 12 games(including indoor) against teams listed in the 12U poll. All games were very competitive, most coming down to 1 or 2 run differential. Doom96's record in these games is 5-7 overall. Obviously not the overall record we would like, but we do have a victory of Lasers Gold. We have also played against Indiana Thunder 96 and Indy Blast, two of the best 12U teams in Indiana. We beat the Blast and lost to Thunder.

Valley Extreme finished 2nd at Aunt Rosie's this weekend in Amherst NY. going 4-1 . Great tourney, very good competition and they did a great job dealing with the rain. The New Era Diamond Girls came away with the championship with a 7-5 victory on Sunday after losing to V.E. 3-2 on Friday afternoon.
