Got the app and love it. One question to throw out there though. How do you enter a stolen base ? I've looked and looked and looked ?

after the pitch, you touch the base tht the base runner started on, that will bring up a screen similar to the "ball in play" screen, you then choose safe or out, and then select which base, and then select how they got there (i.e. stolen base, passed ball, wild pitch, defensive indifference, error, etc..)

Got to use iScore on the ipad this weekend at Beavercreek. It was awesome, with the exception of operator error, in not substituting players in one game that I got mad and caught up in the game. I scored 3 games on Saturday, and had about 40% power remaining. I did need to switch the screen to the white skin, which helped with glare. The main problem was getting the roster set before the game. As we play the teams and I get all of the rosters entered it will be less pre-game work. The coach enjoyed all of the stats that he had available to him.

I've been using GameChanger the past few games and today i tried out iScore.

Both apps are similar, the learning curve on iScore I'd say is a little steeper than GameChanger. GameChanger seems to be a little easier to use in game and to keep up with the action with. It has a little more intuitive interface. iScore seems to be easier to manage players with. Really where one lacks the other makes up for it and vice versa. It really comes down to which one you are most comfortable with.

Stats wise..... with GameChanger everything uploads to a website. You can then go to the webpage and view all the stats and export or print. iScore gives you the ability to directly e-mail the stats rather than having to go to the web. Again, just which way you prefer to handle it.

It seems as though these scoring apps are becoming more and more popular. One thing I've noticed is that entering the opposing teams lineup 5 minutes before the game starts is less than ideal. It would be nice if teams would post their rosters here so folks that use the scoring apps could enter the rosters (either online or on their app) at their leisure.....before the tournament or game. Some teams have team websites where you can get this information, but not all of them do. Just a thought. What do you think?

Yeah, that is difficult to do with the roster. Even on the websites, I have found them to be highly innacurate. Darn those teams that just want to play ball and not update the webpages. (LOL) The good thing is, once you play them again, it is extremely easy to get the roster set.

On iScore, I set the quick roster - and then as each player comes up to bat I get their number and enter it, when they take defense, I then find that player on the field and assign the position! You can do that all under Misc / see starting lineup while the game is going on. Not ideal, but as a parent who only scores as a hobby, it's been the best solution for me.

you spawn a good thought... then I remembered, if the team is USSSA sanctioned and filled out their rosters online... it's all there. Good ideas :)

hmmm... i need to look into that. This is the one thing I didn't like about iScore vs GameChanger. GameChanger you can add players on the fly as they come to bat, didn't see how to do that in iScore. This is really the hardest thing i've found using either program is setting up the lineups quickly when you get it at the last minute from the opposing team.

Good call on the USSSA site, Lester. I found rosters for three more teams that we'll be playing this weekend. Thanks!

I have been using Gamechanger for the past few weeks and there is an option to use placeholders for the opposing team. I figure out how many on their team and just add that many placeholders. I can go in and add number and position later. I haven't been too worried about getting the players right on opposing teams yet. I figure once I get better at the basics of scoring I can get more sophisticated with the opposing teams.
