Ah dude that really $ucks! Sorry to hear that. Sad thing is most people would leave a note or number. I know I would be highly ticked off!

Yes, really capped the weekend.

My youngest dd & I were looking at the shirts when you came up to the table. That was no small chip in your windsheild. Got the impression that no one up there wanted to deal with the problem. Sorry that happened to you :(

I remember you, and yes, they just wanted me to go away lol.

That what you get for being a Yankees fan!! ;& Thought I caught a glimpse of someone who looked liked Hitter lurking in the parking lot close to your car.:lmao:

 well at least it was thrown correctly.

fences on all fields need to be in place --I know some teams probably got all their games with that type field but we played every bracket play game on fields with 240 ft plus fences. laser silver played our #4 at 210, well thats a lie , they were at 220 . not right in several ways LOL . MD

I would like to thank the person who left my windshield with the softball indention today between 11:30 am & 1:00 pm, I hope the shards from my shattered windshield didnt hurt your ball. I also appreciate the anticipated 200-300 dollar bill. I purposely parked as far from a field as possible so it definitly wasnt a foul ball.

Oh, and thanks also for not leaving a note or anything except the damage you *&%#@$.

That $UCK$!!!!!!! Would the park/tournament insurance cover it - hopefully?

an old saying goes: misery loves company. here is my story. One tournament, our windshield got three of those spots where the ball hit and really smashed the windshield. then it rained and we had to drive home and the wiper blades really did nothing.

the question would be, who is responsible to pay? would two girls 14u or 16u throwing a ball that hit a car be responsible enough to leave a number? are they really going to have the money to pay? most parks have a sign when you drive in that say not responsible for lost, stolen and damaged vehicles.

i think my isnurance had $500.00 deductible and we ended up paying $150.00 for the windshield and the cost of a new rearview mirror, which broke also.

Yeah, i know, but at the time ANYONE was going to pay for it but me lol. I thought maybe the tourney had some kinda coverage. I still cant figure out how they got my windshield where it was parked.

Had this situation last year dd hit one over the fence. The parking lot was about 50' from the field but it was down hill quite a bit below field level. Needless to say hard hit ball trajectory and placement of mini van met with a loud crash. I was informed by an attorney at the field that any one who drives a vehicle on to the premises where baseball or softball is being played assumes the liability if their vehicle is damaged by a ball whether thrown or hit. Basically you know the risk and disregard it in the eyes of the liability laws.

On a positive note, I would like to say a huge thank you, thank you to Mr Vazquez, the Valley Extreme parent who found dd's cell phone & took the time & effort to figure out who it belonged to. DD didn't tell me until we were headed home or I would have thanked you in person.

I would like to thank the Lazers and Bruce for putting on a great tournament.Everyone must remember this is a first year event that was ran well with better than average umpires. We had a couple of crews that I would like to see more often.Ohio is lucky to have this event.Hope to play this event next year.
Thanks from the Ohio Ice Black

I'd like to second Kking's remarks. For a first time tournament, I thought things ran very smoothly, and considering the fact that the site for the pools/brackets crashed Friday night, I think Bruce and his crew handled things exceptionally well. It might have been late, but still, a personal call relaying game times for Saturday morning was nice. So, thanks again to the Lasers, Bruce, and all the parents, umps, grounds crew, etc... for a great weekend. On a side note, we did see quite a few college coaches cruising around...that's awesome too.

Being an ASA tournament I would think they would have the insurance to cover damages and I was told many years ago that if you pay to get into an event or to store things ( coat check ) then the people chargeing the fees is responsible for loss items or damages. Might be worth checking into

I want to thank all the teams (105) that showed up this weekend and we were lucky enough with the weather to have agreat tournament. We did some issues on Friday night when we first did not have 9 scores reported in by the umpires at 16u and 18u and then our website crashed repepatedly when loading, so our Gold parents stepped up we personally called all 105 teams from the Fairfield Hotel Lobby. After Friday night I thought the Tournament ran pretty smoothly, are there some things we need to work on absolutely and we will get them worked out and hope we can make next year's tournament even better!

Some of the final stats from our tournament :
105 teams accepted ( 46 non-ohio teams) from 8 States, over 240 teams applied from 9states.
Approximately 30-ish College Coaches attending and what an awesome site at our 14u Laser Gold game having Ohio State, Wright State, Kent State, Univeristy of Arkansas and Morehead State Coaches watching our game wow!@!

And I would be in trouble if I didnt mention our Lady Laser's Gold Team going 10-1 this weekend with our only loss to a very tough Pitts. Lady Roadrunners in ITB 5-4 on Sat. and then coming back on Sunday and winning 5 games against 4 very good teams, definitely the best competition from top to bottom we have faced this year so far!

Here is link for our site for the games and results:

thank you
Bruce

This has probably been addressed somewhere in this thread, but does anyone have the info on pictures? I know our team bought some and I haven't heard anything.

It was a great tournament to be in. Well set-up. Except for one thing.. what's up with not having a batter's box? That caused a great controversy in the game. Very upset with that. Getting called out for stepping out of a batter's box that didn't exist is pretty frustrating.
