14U Quarterfinals:
MVXress over Stingrays 4-1
Heart of Ohio Force over Cincy Storm
Akron Sapphires over Phoenix
Lasers over Doom 7-2?

Semis:
Heart of Ohio Force against Lasers
MVXpress against Sapphires

I don't have all of the scores, I left during the semis. I was hot and tired and retired to the air conditioning.

Saphires vs Force in the finals

Saphires were up going into the 4th

Christie and the girls were rolling, unless something happens, looks like the saphires!

Thanks Ump - miss hangin' with ya, btw. Just got a report that the Force got 2 runs late, then darkness won with game ending in a 6-6 tie.

Sapphires & Force tie as co-champs at 14u.

Congrats to both teams, sounds like it was a great game.

14U details

Semi's Heart of Ohio Force 12-6 over Lasers Red
Akron Sapphires over MV Express


Final ends in a 6-6 tie due to darkness. Sapphires and Heart of Ohio Force are 14U tournament Co-Champions. Great game by both teams. Thanks to Dave Beckham and his Ohio Classic parent volunteers for putting on another very well run tournament.

Stringrays vs Classics - Stringrays won

12U Doom vs Roadrunners - Doom won


Finals:
The Doom won against the Stringrays - I believe the score was 7-5

Stingrays Marcum beat the Classics, don't know score.

Thanx to everyone who participated.... We raised nearly $700 for Special Olympics and hosted lots of great softball. ? Nothing better than a taste of summer ball to get us thru the winter...

Something very impressive: ?Since my team got knocked out By the Buckeye Heat Gianas in the semi finals I got the opportunity to witness something that keeps us focussed on why we all do what we do. ?Over at Pick North on Sunday the last two teams are playing in a back and forth game. ?As I was cleaning up and shutting down the other diamonds as the Akron Sapphires and the Heart of Ohio Force are battling, the crowd is cheering and you would think they were playing for a national championship. ? The umpires decide that it was to dark to keep playing and the Championship ends in a tie. ?

as a Tournament Director I'm thinken - lets get those umps back here and finish this thing..... ?its all about winning right!

As both team's coaches and I talked about a solution - the kids talked and congratulated each other. ?The girls were awesome.... ?You would think that they played together all the time. ?Laughter and and cheering for each other as both teams together got their picture taken with the championship trophy - Its worth it to us to get a few more champion t shirts made because both teams really are champions.

The best line of the night was when Jeff Klopfer is walking onto the field to pass out the trophies and is oblivious to the outcome of the game. He walks out , we inform him of the tie and in a shocked voice says, "well that's not supposed to happen" in referring to the tie.

Nobody walked away from that game disappointed. Every girl there, and coach for that matter, was completely out of gas. It was a hard fought game and they all left it on the field. We are all very proud of both teams and want to thank the tournament staff for a very well run tourney.

If you ask the players on our team, then they are all pitchers!
We have five that throw in games.
