The only rounds I may be doing at the tourney is on the tractor or brooms dragging the fields.....When the day is over, if you want to buy a round, or two, or three, I know the best place in town..

Here is an update on the tournament: I will be sending out after tomorrows mail all the information regarding game times and field assignments. It looks like we will be starting at 9:00 am on Sat. morning.

As of now there are 9 teams in the 12u division and 4 in the 14u division:

12u Division:

Marion Diamonds
Central Oh Lady Vipers
Marion Merchants
Springfield Power
Central OH Stingrays
Olentangy Lightning
Tri-County Thunder
Central Oh Lady Blaze
Dragons Black

14u Division:

Central OH Stingrays
Heart of OH Explosion
Buckeye Heat 94
Plain City Pioneers

Good luck to all teams and we wish you the best...

Thank you for saying you swear you will just be watching.
We will not worry you are trying to talk a player to quit and join your team.
I was told you did at Columbus on April 19-20. Did you or did they lie to me or did they not understand when you talked to them?

You might be right laserparent.
I would like 12ustingrays to answer the question.

mom2DD,

Since you state that someone told you that this happened, then it doesn't concern you or your DD. Coaches will talk to parents about their DD only. They will not talk to you about someone else's kid. Since it doesn't concern you, then he doesn't have to answer you. If it did happen to a family, then they should have told their coach and then that coach or the family could have gotten in touch with the Stingray's and voiced their concerns and the organization will deal with it. Quit being a gossipmonger.

Now, let's get back on topic.

Thanks for the responses.
Now I believe I can trust what they say.
I do not believe they lied to me.

I would never do it, recruit at a tournament, but it wouldn't bother me if someone tried to recruit some of our players. I know its technically wrong but as this stuff gets more and more competitive, I think it will happen more often. Right or wrong. If a parent/player really feel they should make a move mid season, after factoring in all that will be affected by the move, positively and negatively, to themselves and the teams involved, then go for it. This past weekend in Boardman, one of our parents talked to a parent of a girl who used to play with some of our girls on a different team a few years back. She is currently on another team and we played against them this weekend. She let her know,on her own, that we always have a spot for her daughter. Well, I asked that the parent not do that again as it may be miscontrued as recruiting. Nor do we currently have a spot available unless we expand. Plus I know the coach good enough from the other team that I wouldn't want him to think that was happening. Don't think the other parent took it seriously though anyways. I know its not the same as what mom2dd is saying happened involving a coach, but the point is though, its a touchy subject. I personally feel that none of our players/parents would make a switch mid season. So why worry about who may be recruiting them? Recruit away. And at the end of the season, parents/players should reassess where they are and where they may like to be. I'd expect them to.

In the end, if it happened, is it really that big of a deal? Sounds like the player(s) aren't going to leave the team. Let it go. There is worse that could happen.
