In 12U, the Lasers Silver and Stingrays-Caton have qualified. Not sure about Doom 95. Playing in Montgomery, Alabama end of July.

18u

Elyria Sundogs (ASA State Tournament, Toledo)
Ohio Attack (Open Qualifier, Pickerington)
Ohio Jaguars (Metro Cleveland, Strongsville)

Last two 18u bids will be earned this weekend in Ashland.

sgf - are you sure there are 2 berths this weekend? With only 4 teams in the 18-U and (I'm told) 30 teams at ASA state in Maumee only getting 1 berth, this seems rather lopsided.

I'm curious too about where they were won. I want a good list for which tournaments to hit next year.

SGF67 - The Attack did get one at our tournament but it was an OPEN ASA National Qualifier. not the Region 9 qualifier. That tournament is this weekend in Ashland.

Where did the 16u Ashland Blaze and the Cinci Doom earn theirs?

I was told Ashland Blaze qualified by winning the ASA Eastern Nationals last year (which is one way of qualifying for the nationals the following year). The Cincy Doom won a Region 10 qualifier (Diamonds of the South tourney maybe??) I don't remember exactly but read it somewhere on the OFC awhile back... lol.

In regards to the comments on the 18u qualifier in AShland this weekend - are you sure it's 2 berths?? I talked to the TD tonight and was told the 16s are now only ONE berth. We have more teams entered than the 18s so I'm going to guess that the 18s have been changed too.

Dave Beckham:

The difficulty of finding information on ASA qualifiers is now one of my favorite soapboxes. PM me if you find anything regarding next year on 14U and I'll do the same for your age group, which will be 18U, right?

It just shouldn't be this hard . . .

cgs,

I got all of my info this year by going right to the source, Warren Jones. He was more than happy to take the time to answer all of my questions.

He will not answer e mail either. To me that tells the whole story!

At least tell us to bug off.

sgs57 ?- I'll be doing 16 again. ?I'm always doing 16u inour program as we have dedicated coaches at 16 and 18 and the talent moves thru our program that way. ? Yes I will forward the info I get to you and to this site.

cgs - The problem isn't just getting the information (which Warren hasn't returned a phone or email message to me). ?It is also about the information remaining the same. ? The Columbus ASA Director gets the information - then it changes - with no explanation. ?He is just as frustrated as I am. ?

I am speculating here. Maybe it isn't posted in writing some where because it changes as the year goes....

I went to the ASA site and read (very stimulating- NOT) the "berths" sections.

It appears Ohio has 2 bids plus two for having a large association- that makes 4.

Also Cleveland, Cinci, and Dayton each have one.

So for Ohio - not looking at teams that can receive a berth from the prior year's ASA regional nationals, nationals, HOF, or other States - Ohio has a total of 6 bids.

I apologize if I am incorrect- at leats it's better then no response from ASA

If that is the case there should be...4 or 5 left right?

Considering Ashland Blaze, Doom did not use one of those

Not sure were Valley Sting got theres.

Wolfpack and Nightmere recieved 2 of those state bids.

7Bids- 2(Wolfpack,Nightmare)-0(Ashland, Doom)-1 Maybe(Valley Sting)=That would leave 4 or 5 bids out there?

Simple question...lol. Why doesn't ASA offer a Metro berth for Columbus? Being that JoeA is from Central Ohio, maybe he has some insight on this injustice? I would think that Columbus should be afforded the same opportunity as Cleveland, Cincinatti and Dayton area teams!!!
