Ohio Ice/Newsome won there 3 poll games before being rained out by only giving up 2 runs. Hopefully the rain will hold off tomorrow.

I understand things are a little rocky as the TD tries to recover from that deluge last night. Spouse says it's likely he will be VERY late getting home tonight.

Buckeye Heat 18U was 3-0 in pool play. Apparently there were two 4-0 teams who played each other earlier today??? Still trying to figure that out.

Final 4 in the 16U Gold bracket was Ohio Freeze vs Team Indiana and SGS Magic White vs Granger Fire

Ohio Freeze was up 1-0 over Team Indiana when lightning stopped play. ?After rain, and continuing lightning, the tournament was called.

Quarterfinals were:

Ohio Freeze over K-Valley Storm (IL)
SGS Magic over Ohio Ice
Granger Fire (IN?) over Ohio Phantoms
Team Indiana over Kenosha Cyclones (WI)

note: As far as teams being playing 3 or 4 pool games, some teams got games in on Saturday and some didn't due to severe thunderstorms in the afternoon.

The 18U gold bracket was at the same complex as the 16U gold bracket, so I am sure they were canceled as well.

Tournament Bracket for Sunday was different. Ohio Ice will not be back next year.We went to this tournamment to get our kids noticed ( which some did ) by scouts but I wish we would have went to ASA states. Very disappointed how it was ran.

Great Lakes Results:

Final Four were the Indy Cobras, Grainger Fire, Ohio Freeze and Magic White. ?When the rains came the Freeze was up on Indy 1 - 0 and the Magic was up on the Fire by a score of 4 - 0. ?After a long rain delay, the tournament was decided by runs allowed. ?The Magic had allowed just one run in bracket play and were therefore awarded the championship. ?The Freeze were the runner-ups. ?All 4 teams were awarded ASA Eastern National Bids.

Congrats to the Magic. ?Keep it rolling in Colorado!

The Magic team gave up only 3 runs for the entire tournament (against some outstanding competition). I am not sure what role the umps had in their other victories (as Ice said you can read into it what you want) but I would agree they are a very good team as they have demonstrated in their wins against a couple of teams that are continually mentioned in the weekly OFC polls.

The Magic are heading to Colorado next week for the Classic and the Sparkler events. Not sure what kind of help they will get from the umps out there but NW Ohio wishes them the best. We are sure they will represent us well.

Yeah Day's Magic team is very good. I think they only have 1 loss on the season. Very good team and very well coached.

Thanks Uber and Buckeye. ?I'm typically reluctant to post here because of the firestorm that may result :-[ but on behalf of my girls, I appreciate the positive comments. ?It has been a great year so far and we are hopeful that we'll have some fun and a little bit of success out in Colorado.

See you in a few weeks! ;)

No need to be reluctant Dave. Cant you feel the love?

Seriously -- Good Luck in Colorado! We had a ball when we were there.

I know I told you this already but DO NOT do the Coors tour before the white water rafting.

Have fun -- we will miss you guys!
