Let me add that if any Buckeye Heat parent bashed the Magic or any other team on here, they wouldn't be a Heat parent past the end of the current season.

It is your leadership with regard to acceptable behavior within your organization that helps it stand apart from others. That is one of the many reasons that it is a respected and classy organization.

Hopefully, now we can move beyond the criticisms and comparisons (at least for the time being) and enjoy some softball for another weekend.

I have no issues with you or any other person associated with the Heat - Toledo team. ?My statement was in response to Catchacold's. ?She is the one that brought your team into this. ?As far as the "slummin" comment goes - that was obviously tongue-and-cheek; again, in response to Catchacold's statement about how weak Toledo tournaments are. ?It was not intended to be derogatory toward your team.

I have the utmost respect for the Heat team; as I do for all of the other teams in Northwest Ohio and surrounding areas. ?That is precisely why I took offense to the remarks from Catchacold.

It is obvious that the remarks made by Catchacold struck a nerve with more than just me. ?I am not sure if she realized how insensitive her remarks were to not only the young ladies that play on my team but also to all of the other young ladies that play for other local organizations. ?Playing for the Magic, the Wizards, the Irish or any other organizations in Toledo does not imply that anyone is lacking skills, ability or desire to become a better ballplayer and it definitely does not mean that they are trying to avoid playing against good competition. ?Each player and their family makes a decision to play on a team that fits their needs, their goals and in some cases their financial situation (among numerous other factors). ?As I stated earlier, our mission is to have fun and to get better. ?I am assuming that all teams and organizations have their own goals or visions of what they want to accomplish as well. ?But, just because those goals may not be in alignment with those of Catchacold it does not mean those teams should be respected any less.

Again, I have no issues with the Heat or any other team. ?I wish the Heat well as you prepare for your run to the ASA Nationals.

No offence taken I understood it was said with tounge- and -cheek. I explained it for Icantcatchacold.

FYI "Classics" above is not from the Ohio Classics Organization. He is a just a fan of softball and a collector of Classic cars. Any comments he makes are not to be interpreted as a comment from the Ohio Classics organization....

It sure does seem like a sad state to me when all of these organizations have to put out disclaimers just to make sure that some people's stupid comments are not in some way misunderstood as coming from their organizations. ?I cant blame the people from those organiizations for doing so - it is just sad that this forum and this thread in particular require that.

I motion as a follow up to fastpitchkid's post to get back on topic or move on to another thread!

well said NWO. it is very sad that they have to do that. if only some of these "respected organizations" knew how some of their coach's acted at some of these tournaments.....if they are so worried about how their organization is being represented.

It's really getting tough to read this stuff because everyone is out to "bash" the next guy or organization. It would be nice if everyone could focus on the topic. If you want to "bash" someone, it seems like most everyone knows who is who, so go up to the person at the next tournament you see him/her at and bash them to their face. then we can see some real bashing going on!!

That just gave me an idea. ?Maybe we can lobby the OFC Gods to create a new Topic Board for "Bashing". ?It could even be divided into sub-topics like "organization bashes", "team slams", "diss the coach", or "pick on a player". That would be a good start.

Maybe that would help keep threads like this from being hijacked (which despite all of my efforts I have now become a major contributor to).

I feel this topic got out of control. it gets sensationalized about how everyones feelings get hurt by what was said.

The orginal poster did compliment the team however went on to bash their strength of schedule. (Kind of like the Buckeyes schedule of last year).

The orginal poster took for granted and assumed what that teams goals were. Not evey organization/teams goals are the same.

That is were this topic went sideways. Cant we just cosider the source and move on.

Lets just say we lock this Thread and move on.
