We had the diamonds ready to go tonite and at 8:30 it began again and poured for the next 90 minutes and I know as good as this facility is - we won't be ready to play as scheuled.

the 9:30 and 11:15 games will be cancelled and we will begin Pool play with the 1:00 games. Be prepared to play Bracket Play on Friday. Weather doesn't look promising for Saturday but Sunday looks good so we want to ensure that we complete the part of the tournament that matters the most.

Check the hotline 614 837-0408 at 8:00 am for an update.

Dave,
Good lookin' out!!! Good luck trying to stay a step ahead of Mother Nature. I live very close to Pick. North, and on Wednesday night we had over 4 inches of rain, according to one of the neighbors rain gauge, not sure how much last night. I hope that the 10u & 12u's in Fostoria have it together like you do, but I haven't heard anything yet!!

Sounds like quite a mess - anyone have an idea where I can find scores? Will they be available? Or have they even been able to play? Looks like some great matchups.

Why do you say it sounds like a mess? David is doing everything he can to get the games in. Bring your "A" game. By now, I would think everyone would know their "A" game. Especially in these 2 age groups.

I'm sorry Blue_moon. I Didn't mean to come across negative. I sat and watch some of the best competition Friday night. I know David will do everything within his powers to make sure this somehow works out despite the weather. Sunday is going to provide a lot of playing time.

Just wondering if scores are posted anywhere? New schedule for Sunday? I'm assuming that the weather is still wreaking havoc with the tournament.

Just want to say Great Job by Coach Beckham and his staff. They did as good of job as anyone could to stay ahead of the rain. The tournament in it self was a great experience for my Team and their maturity. It was an honor to step on the field with Teams like Valley Extreme, Ohio Ice, and MVX. All are very well coached.

rain got a hold of us again... We got a bunch of games in today and wihittled it down to 6 teams in each age group

18 Winners Bracket was Ohio Classics and Ohio Attach
18u Loser bracket Stingrays Marcum, Grand Slam, Central Ohio Ice, Ohio Ice Black

16 Winners bracket Grove City Nightmare Wolfpack
16u Loser bracket Miami Valley Express, Vickings Elite

Then the rain came.. we had to shut down the loser bracket and get things up for finals.

we started the games and the rain came again. The Wolfpack and Nightmare share the championship since both teams have berths.

The Classics and Attach went on another two hour delay til the rain stopped and we got the diamond back runnign again.

The Attack won the final and earn a berth to ASA nationals.

The Chi-Town Express (Burr Ridge, IL) would like to thank David Beckham and the Ohio Classics for their hard work in hosting the ASA Qualifier this past weekend. We understand what a challenge it was with the wet weather and we sincerely appreciate the efforts.

We knew coming to Ohio to play was going to be a challenge, against some very good teams, and we were certainly correct. We had the pleasure of seeing some outstanding softball teams and it is a testament to the hard work of many great players and coaches in your area. You have some excellent softball teams in Ohio and we were fortunate to play against a few of them in the Classics, the Ice and the Valley Extreme. We left knowing we are a better team due to facing great competition.

Best of luck to all of the teams in your area and hope to see you guys at nationals.

Abcolutely great tournament! Coach Beckham and his staff were some of the best communicators and were fast and efficient with information on delays. They did everything they could to get in as any games as mother nature would allow.

The umpires were the best the team has seen this summer. They hustled and worked hard.

There were also plenty of college coaches around throughout the weekend.

The facilities were ideal! It was great to play on "real" fast pitch fields. It was also great not to have to be worried about being hit in the head with a ball while watching DD.

This tournament could become one of the best tournaments in the state.

Get this one on the calendar early next year!
