Bustos Blast Hitting and Fielding Clinic!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Bustos Blast Classic is excited to offer a hitting and fileding clinic with Olympians Crystl Bustos and Laura Berg for all athletes. (You don't have to be playing in the tournament to participate in the clinic!) This event will featuring Crystl Bustos, Laura Berg and Howard Carrier, personal hitting instructor to Crystl Bustos and former Chinese National Team hitting coach. The clinic will be held Saturday morning, prior to 'games' starting! Why prior to the start of the tournament? Crystl wants all participants to be able to practice what they just learned while she is there to help you further understand the techniques learned. For the younger ages our U18 team and Bustos coaches will be available to sit in the dugouts and answer any questions or give one on one instruction to the players. The clinic cost is $60.00 and includes a clinic ?T? shirt. For additional details or to obtain a registration packet, please email Tom Wiesman at twiesman@cinci.rr.com or call (513) 385-1846. We have been using this format for three years now and the kids, parents and coaches seem to enjoy it.

Crystl, Laura and myself stay around after the clinic is over and answer questions from the parents, players and coaches while the games are going on and when invited will actually come to the dugouts to answer questions or explain what it is they may or may not be doing correctly so they can use it at that at bat or the next at bat. We do not know anyone else that tries to get the kids or coaches to use what they were just taught earlier that day in that manner.

When you see the light bulb go off and the kids get it and actually make it work on the field it is priceless! It builds the confidence they can do it!

We will try and talk Crystl and Laura into hitting a few rounds before the games begin as some of the coaches in the area would like to see how she actually does it and maybe she will answer your questions and share her thoughts....either attend the clinic or pay the gate fee and it all goes back into the Busto's organization program to keep the girls playing.

For those at the October clinic when Laura came in you know what a great job she does and how much fun she is. For those who couldn't make it and are coming to this clinic you are in for a treat. Laura is energetic, fun and devoted to the game and the girls.

Crystl has been with the Ultimates for quite a few years and has always done everything she can to promote the game for the girls and keep them playing. Hopefully everyone will support her and help make the Blast tournament and clinc a huge success.

Remember folks, your daughter will get to work with the best hitter in the world. She will come to every station and answer all questions that time will allow. Your daughter will receive one on one attetion from trained staff and coaches. It is a wonderful opportunity.

Even if you do not attend the hitting clinic we will be there to help your daughter during the day or to help your coach if they ask for help.

Not many offer this type of clinic to help everyone, so get your teams there and take advantage of having two great former Team USA players field your questions....ask your coach to get you into this tournament!

Do NOT miss out on the opportunity to LISTEN, OBSERVE, QUESTION, WORK and PRACTICE what Crystl and Howard teach. It WILL change how your daughter hits the ball. At the Gold & Silver II Cinic, Howard spent 5 minutes with my daughters and we could see immediately a difference in the way they hit the ball. They both hit the ball harder off a tee then they hit a ball all year. You know when you catch one good and they were able to repeat that sound. And that was fun for my daughters. Just the little bit of time Howard spent with Kayla and Alexis has made a huge impact on how they approach hitting now. I personally cannot thank him enough for what he has taught us. He doesn't know me from Adam but he has answered EVERY question I have PM'd him on here. To me, that is a man of his word and shows his integrity for what he does. I look forward to seeing them again and getting to meet Laura at the Bustos Blast Clinic. Plus, both of my daughters now play with the Bustos Ultimates. That clinic has truly changed how my daughters view this wonderful game.

We see this over and over. The time and dedication that Howard gives is unsurpassed. We look forward to every minute we spend with Crystal and Howard. We have been with the organization for over four years now and we feel blessed. If you have not experienced these clinics please make a trip. Coaches, you can enroll your entire team. Remember, we still need teams to register. Local teams, if you are holding out and worried that we have not signed up for your tournaments please know that our younger teams are coached by former players who are playing in college and can't make early tournaments. We will be registering more of our teams soon with some of us older coaches coaching them until their coaches get out of school.

Along with the hitting that we always focus on Laura Berg will probably go over slapping. She worked with some of my girls the last time she was in and she was fantastic. What a dynamo! We are counting the minutes. Remember, Crystal always puts on a demo for all of us to enjoy.

CB may also be bringing some of the Akron Racers with her to help out also.

Sometimes you just never know who will show up....

Even if your team is not entered in the tournament you will get something from the clinic however why not get both while staying close to home!

Maybe we can get that ever elusive Tim "Git er Done" Duncan to show up and help out. One of these day's we are actually going to get an autograph and picture with the guy! I can just see it now-one day the signs will read "Bustos, Carrier and Duncan" On second thought that sounds too much like a law firm! Any team lucky enough to have him work with their whole team (if you can't get Howard, of course) will definately have a stacked team!

But if he isn't able to make it for the Blast I am sure, like Howard said, Crystl will be sure to have plenty of people the girls will love working with. The Ultimates are putting together what looks to be a fun filled weekend for the girls.

vicki-clinic and tournament are Memorial Day Weekend May 22-25. Clinic will be Saturday morning before the games start

Tim-I am starting on your special seat for the autograph table as I type. Will take your favorite colors and fabircs into consideration but can't guarantee anything! All kidding aside having you and the young one there would be a treat. Hope you can both make it.

Charles-Thanks! She gets all her charm from me-lol Actually she knows in this sport my only contribution is typing and talking cause it sure isn't throwing and hitting! I am looking forward to watching Laura again. She has an energy and passion for the game that is unreal. This will be a great weekend for the girls and parents too.

Or possibly put another way where can you go to a clinic and then have the people who instructed you on how to do it stick around for the hard part and help you understand how to help your daughter and you the parent actually do it so you can see it work!

We had a couple dads set up a friend on why they should squish the bug....after we got done with him and then worked with his daughter and she hit the ball further and he laughed and said, "Well now I have to face my older son and tell him I was wrong!"

We will field your questions....come on out and have some fun while learning.
