Hey! Be nice I resemble that remark!

Who ever dies with the most STUFF wins in the game of life!

This is 20 years of evolution...the wife does not complain as long as she gets to park the car in the garage at night. How come you two did not come down Friday? Get Crosbi to tell you who she worked with...we also got Jess started.

In slow motion, looks like one ball goes down third baseline, and other at 2nd base. Is this a result of the first ball hitting the second ball off center? Or does it matter?

Ideally both would go straight ahead.
The main goal is to drive through the ball and not stop the power at impact.
Try to power all the way through.

Try to keep the ball on the bat with extension.

That is a great observation and the first thing we teach is what can go wrong. Usually they hit the first ball inside the ball the ball on the forward tee. Next issue is hitting the back ball low causing it to jump over the ball on the forward tee. Once you start driving the back ball into the ball on the forward tee then you keep refining your release of the wrists and rotating as needed so the collision happens perfectly. Doing it with the WhipHit is even more difficult however it pays off. A college coach who has two of my kids made the comment your kids make the bat sound different. We are striving to hit every ball with the sweet spot of the bat and hit the ball squarely which is why they are great hitters and it sounds different.

How did Jess do? I know her and Mom were lokking forward to it.

We worked her over 4 hours including lunch and she hung in there with no complaints. She had an RT and her hand path was poor and by the end of the day hand path had improved and her bat speed improved and she was driving the ball into the zone on the net consistently. Her Mom said she slept all the way home.

I watched her at practice in the cage. That is what I thought, but when mom told me she was coming down, I left it alone. Her and Swifty were team mates at 10U.

After getting good at it,,,,,,,,, switch to the whip hit instead of a bat...........That,ll keep ya occupied for a little bit, thru the ball is pretty straight forward, the inside , outside, take a little pratice

Have you ever used three tees? Seen this at a clinic.

Could you explain how it is set up please as to distance etc. between the tees or direction.

I have seen the second tee moved out towards the pitchers mound also.

Whats his name is correct ...when using the WhipHit you must be absolutely perfect with it and with hitting the other ball or you will not hit it.

Tim, must be jet lag. Joe will have to give work on him.

I worked for minimum wage....what a beautiful campus and field!

His girls worked their butts off with no complaints. We did the soft toss from home plate with each of his players so they could see and feel the difference in the flexed knee, hand path and hip rotation. Then we changed the grip and each time they hit the ball a little better and harder and then the smile started coming and I have never hit the ball as hard or as far before! What was even better was some did not believe they could hit the ball farther with their head down until they did it! Great weekend working with Joe again and his girls and staff!

Tell whats his name hello for me!

Howard

Tees are set up directly in front of the other, approx. a bat length. You really need to have a good hand path and stay long through the ball to have a chance at all three.

Howard, when using the WhipHit is the focus on the lead arm?

Thank you! We use the Schutt multi position tee and start with two tees about 16 inches a part and in line with the ball on the front tee a little higher than the one on the back as we want to teach staying on the plane of the pitch somewhere between 8 and 14 degrees. We show them that not hitting the ball squarely will make the ball on the ball tee go inside the ball on the front tee. Then we show hitting the ball on the back tee more than 1 inch below the center will cause the bak ball to jump over the front ball. Then we hit the top of the ball on the back tee so it will hit the tee itself in the front. We are trying to give them this is what may be going on when they swing based on bat angle, rotation of the hips and hand path and when we release the wrists.

We do this with the bat first and then teach it using the WhipHit. Several of our kids can do it with the WhipHit on up the middle, outside and inside tee placements. It just depends on if they want to put in the effort to learn how. We also do soft toss and timing drop drills using it. You should see the look on the boys faces when we go to a public cage and they take batting practice with it! If you swing down or level on the ball do not use the WhipHit or you will be yourself to death! Unless my kids are experienced I make them use a helmet when learning how to use it. They use to have a clip of one of our boys using it on the WhipHit web site driving hard balls exactly up the middle and he is one that can do the double tees and take batting practice with it also.

Yes the focus is on the lead elbow making a good first move as the girls give up on driving the ball off the bat in my opinion as you see the ball die in mid air and the bat hits their shoulder or dumps over their back so you know they never got to extension and or rolled their wrist over during contact. We do a hand drill and they see and hear them self hit the ball harder with one verses two and then when we use two hands again they hit the **** out of the ball!

Shockwave. Not sure which sting ray team your DD plays for. But Pat, Chris and Bill have seen these drills. I did a indoor clinic at Capital and used these for Larry Cantons team last year. I did the two ball two T' drill. Pat's DD has worked with Howard.

We've been working with Howard for just about 2.5 years. Most of our DD's have seen this drill or do it on their own. It's a great way to show the trajectory of the ball and explain to them the value of "elbow", the big zone, release and Howard's other aforementioned reasons this drill is successful. We are going to "re-rollout" this drill today in our workout. I'll say the DD's really like this drill cause it's "newer" and "they get to hit something that gets to hit something..." in one of their own words. Lot's of fun introduced to something that is very techinical but will soon be a muscle memory "check and balance" IMO.

We do the 2 ball once in awhile with the bat, but never with the whip hit. That would take some serious practice to do consistently.
Just depends how good of a hitter you want to be.
Next time casey and I work on it will give it a try. ;)
