Thank you for your post! We try our best! And we know there are improvements that need to be made..... And the net over head needs to be addressed! This has been an on going request with the Parks Dept for about 9-10 years.

THANKS AGAIN.......

The Doom played solid ball all weekend and deserved their wins, and they can hit!! That pitcher was very, very good, and their defense is solid.

I'm very proud of the Maddogs. We played very, very good ball all weekend until the 7th inning meltdown against the Ice. We were lucky to come out of that with a win. The game with the Doom was a hard fought battle. They just out hit us. I can't wait until my kid and the Zeiger kid are able to play with the team again. It's gonna be a fun summer.

Congrats to the Doom in winning the Championship!

Enjoyed watching your Maddog team play as they are a very well coached talented team. Was wondering if your team is more first or 2nd years girls?????

Finally got to meet the famous Wgman21, very nice individual and knows his places to eat. Harmon's Louisiana Licker Wings is hands down the best wings I've ever had the pleasure to taste. The 18oz porterhouse for $14.99 was also delicious, thanks for the recommendations Wgman21. Look forward to this tournament next year!

Oh yeah the tournament, AWESOME, faced some very good pitchers and well disciplined hitters and dd is excited to be playing 14U with the Caton-Stingrays.
GO STINGRAYS!!!

The team you saw is (9) 8th graders and a 7th grader. We have 2 freshman (including my dd) who can't play until high school ball is over. Because of the way the birthdays fall, we have to, and will be, moving up to 16u next year. Hope that helps.

The 7th grader does not HAVE to move up, but is planning to in order to stay with this team.

Just wanted to say thanks to the Doom 95 for letting me hang around!!! I was very impressed with alot of very talented 7th and 8th graders from the Doom, Maddogs, Valley Extream, Stingrays, Ice and Road Runners. If this is a true gauge of where the middle school age players are from a talent standpoint...then Ohio Fastpitch has continued the trend of getting our players to the next level. Good luck to all the above mentioned teams and have a fun and safe 2009 summer travel season!!!

P.S. I really enjoyed seeing and talking with many old and new friends from around the state. :)

Bink, it was a pleasure to have you as our guest hitting instructor for the weekend. As always, you are a walking, talking dictionary of the mechanics and mental approach to hitting. Thanks for sharing and we enjoyed your positive energy this weekend.

Great job as always Darla!!! This was my daughters 4th time at this tournament and has become one of our favorites. Thank God we didn't have to play thru the night as we did last year. My son was impressed you remembered him form last year. You saved his butt by finding his glove. Thanks, again.

I agree with Bink, there was loads of middle school talent seen this past weekend. Good luck to all teams and have a safe season.

Ralph, thanks for the compliment as I truely enjoyed being aound the Doom families, players and coach's. With that being said I really only worked with and talked often with 3 certain players that I'm really close with all weekend. Doug, Jimmy, Wendal, Matt and Sherry along with ALL the Doom 95 players deserve ALL of the credit.

I also have to give additional credit to Howard C, Glen W, and good old Charlie Lau JR and Sr, because when I get stuck with a mechanic issue that perplexes me they are just a quick phone call or short read away!!! :)

One of the above spend some time in Calf discussing softball with Slaught, so I can't wait to hear all the new knowledge he will pass along to us. Lee, Glad to talk hitting with you and Jeff this weekend. It is always about the girls no matter who they play for.

I wish we were coming but evidently we had some schedule conflicts. Offensively we sure did'nt show our good side , and our pitcher was off with her control , which normally isn't a problem. can't give free passes and bases to good teams. I'm sure we will be much better after getting some games in. MD

Darla and Tigertown crew - nice job as always. Playing thru the night or in 25 mph winds and dust you guys always seem to make it happen. Nice touch with free admission on Mothers Day!!

This tournament has been very memorable for me. Last year playing at all hours thru the night and then this year having two of my DDs play against each other - twice!! I am very proud of both DDs one for 14U Maddogs (CF) and the other for 14U Ohio Ice (catcher). As a parent this was not a lot of fun. In fact my wife had to watch the second game from the van in the parking lot...LOL. I at least watched from center field. Very nervous for them during the game and I tried to show no emotion either way. I must admit that when each of them threw out opposing girls I quietly rejoiced so that the other one could not see. Outside of GAPPS, they will not be playing at the same tourny. That is a good thing since both of these teams will be playing late on Sundays - two very solid teams and I am proud of both.

Congrats Doom on the championship. Very nice hitting team. You will be a terror all year.

A lot of talent with Maddogs, Ice, Doom, Stingrays, Valley Extreme and Roadrunners. The future looks bright for these teams. What a great first tournament.

I am just glad that we are all outside and the season is under way!!
