TigerTown Tournament Results.....

Drove down to see some action at the 12U and 14U and saw some great games. Looks like the Tidalwaves and Stingrays are headed for a showdown in 12U, both going 3-0 in pool play. In the 14U it again looks like the 12U will dominate, with the Lasers Silver and Ohio Slammers going undefeated so far. My question...is the 12U class that loaded or are the 14U teams at this tournament mostly mid level travel teams without their freshmen? Look forward to seeing how the games turn out tomorrow.

Cant really answer your question. All I know is I cant wait until the 26th so I can get my team together to play. I do believe Clarks Ohio Ice 13U went undefeated this weekend so far. Good luck to all teams this weekend . I know there are alot of High school girls who are hungry and ready to get at it ! ;D

Now that are pool play games are completed, does anyone know how the seedings (1 thru 12) turned out for the 14U? I know that the websight has the winners bracket posted, but no teams have been seeded into the slots yet. Can someone please post the matchups? :)

Does anyone have any final results? I know that the parking lot was full of softball fanatics, so there should be plenty of scores and highlights to share.

Was at Tigertown today and really didnt see any team that impressed me in the 14U. Laser silver will be good in 12u but will not hang when the older 14u teams come back from high school. But was kinda dissappointed at the talent in the 14U. Laser pink looked good for the younger kids.

Watch your back...Yeah, when the girls come back from HS I wouldn't turn your back on the Silver. ?They may be 12U but make just a very small mistake and Silver will profit from it. ?Good luck. ? ;)

Ok.. ;D ;D Bigtrain I know your loving this one. ?There are days when a team is not on their "A" game...even Silver. ?Let you chew on this one for a while. ?:) ? Kidding aside... good job and congrats.

Congrats Slammers! From your "Silver friends" ;) . You rocked the house on Sunday in Massillon, and deserve credit, beating some very good 14u teams. Guess this answers the earlier question about playing up, even better than Lady_Knights did, ... after all. Was surprised to see an undefeated record listed though? Looking forward to a great summer of ball. Enjoy!

Tidalwaves went undefeated in 12U but I don't have all the teams/scores .. only one game (semi-final) went 7 innings .. the rest were Mercy Rule. Everyone was Hot, Sun-burned & tired, and dirty .. well .. at least I was! LOL .. Good Luck to all .. (Can't wait for that pesky school thing to be over!)

BigTrain. Congrats!!!! Apparently, you know how to get the best out of the girls and they seemed to really like the game. I have read different posts on here down talking you but when push comes to shove you must be doing something right.
Best of Luck this year and keep playing 14U that way my daughters team has a chance at 12U! LOL.

Congrats to the Ohio Slammers and Tidalwaves on there championships this weekend! Saw some great action on Sunday. The pitcher (#10) for the Slammers is very impressive up close, as is a couple of their hitters (#12) and (SS). The Laser Orange pitcher (#7) was also impressive in the 2 games I saw her pitch, as were a couple of their hitters (#12) and (#18). Was told by one of the Laser parents that (#7) was also only a 7th grader. Couldn't believe that I was watching a 14U championship dominated by 2 7th graders. Congrats ladies! I think that at least 3 of the 4 runs for both teams were unearned in the championship? Anyway, here's how they finished:

1st Ohio Slammers 12U 6-0
2nd Lasers Orange 13U 5-2
3rd Ohio Ice 13U 4-1
4th Lasers Silver 12U 3-1
5th GCKA Nightmare 14U 3-2
6th Valley Sting 14U 3-2
7th Ohio Sharks 14U 2-3
8th Ohio Maddogs 13U 1-3
9th Ohio Crush 14U 0-4
10th Strausburg Tigers 14U 0-4
11th Broadview Hts Eagals 0-4

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Slammers lose to a couple 14U teams indoors this winter? ?I know they were beaten at GFOD by the Buckeye Heat-Allen. ?

So how are they undefeated against 14U teams?

Lady knights,
if you want to pad your record with games playing pinball off the roof and nets in sandboxes, so be it.
the Slammers are only focused on reality games -- 9 players, no roof
We play indoor games in the winter to answer questions on personnel, test theories and break the boredom of practice for the kids. Actually, it's to the point playing in the sandboxes is frustratingly pointless -- you hit a bomb and practically bore a hole in the roof and it's strike one
In reality, in real games on dirt, with blue and/or overcast skies, fences in the outfield this year, the Slammers are 25-0 (44-2 in the last 46 going back to Stingrays tournament, which we aren't this year).
We'll be tested this weekend in Chicago at the Orland Park Sparks Invitational. But we'll have an edge with Chicago Bandits coach Bill Conroy taking over the third-base coaching duties. I'll gladly sit on the bench with the hitters while a genius is at work making the young female athletes better on the bases.

Did you answer the question? ?You lost me there. ?So you don't count the indoor losses...OK. ?Are any of the indoor wins, in your 25-0 record?

Oops...I see it, 25-0 while you are outdoors. ?Like I said you lost me in translation.

But then again, I don't count outdoor travel ball tourney games as real games either. Usually these games only go 4-5 innings, in the 75-90 minute time limits, and we all know that if we could play these games for the full 7 innings, results would be much different. ?So I see your point about indoor games. ;)

And when you get back from Chicago, give me a call. I should be available for a complimentary appearance in the third base box, that is if your really looking for a good coach!!! ;D

Your sole purpose is clearly evident -- diminish accomplishments of young female athletes who work their butts off.
Here's a group of 10- 11- 12-year-old kids doing extraordinary things, playing ball six days a week and travelling the country to play the best competition possible and receive the best coaching possible and you attempt to make a mockery of it.
I'm sure your coaching ability will be well suited to whatever neighborhood tournament your team is playing in this weekend.
