TigerTown Tournament Results.....

I believe at 10u they may have met 5 or 6 times. ?I think it was either 3-3 or 3-2 Slammers. ?I believe they only met once last year in the quarter finals at Stingray and the Slammers beat Silver something like 6 or 8 to none (I think). ?If you are one that chooses to count indoor meetings ?;) I believe they only met twice this winter/spring in the same tourney at the T-plex and Silver took both of those by 1 run.

Personally, I always look forward to seeing our girls lock horns with Silver. ?They seem to be a great bunch of girls and the games are always exciting. ?I know my DD looks forward to playing them and the more often we see them, the better she gets to know them, and the more fun the rivalry becomes. ?Of course, no mercy while they're on the field! ? Nothing wrong with a good rivalry!! ? ;D ?

For those inquiring minds .. Silvers Pitcher #33 played 2 yrs. @ 10-U and last year at 12-U with the OH Emeralds .. was recruited to go to Nationals with the Slammers and played in some tournaments with them .. but I believe as a family they decided that in 2007 the Silver was a better fit for them. No conspiracy, every family has to decide what works for them. I asked her this weekend how it's been going and she told me she hit 59 pitching and was having fun. Nice girl with a great temperment. Sometimes girls moving to different team causes rivalries, but it seems to me it is the coaches not the girls who are rivals. I saw girls this weekend on 5 different teams that used to play with my DD in the past three years on two teams she played with. All the girls are great friends no matter which team they play for and it is always fun to see them and their parents and to play against them. All this who is better .. why does it matter?

Of the 12U, have you played the Tidalwaves Yet? They walked thru the 12U tourney, none of us could match up with them..

Hopefully next year Tidalwaves will be excepted in to the Stingray's tournament so we can challenge our girls, and play some teams we have not seen yet. I was surprised only (8) 12-U teams are playing @ the Stingray's tourney. Maybe next year .. Good luck to all ..

PLEASE... let's talk about teams and games, not individual players. I don't want my daughter singled out on here.

As info, nothing more.... Slammers other pitcher (# 27) also plays LF not SS. ?The 2 pitchers split time on the mound and in LF.

She is also off to a really good start to the season so far having just about an even split of the pitching duties and the victories with # 10. ?#10 is undeniably the ace of the staff. ?However, both are solid pitchers and more importantly, great girls, but neither of them wins without the solid defense they have behind them and some run support.

In spending so much time together, all of the girls have become the best of friends and that is part of what makes them such a good TEAM (emphasis on TEAM) ? ;) ?I am certain we're not alone in this aspect.

I was there as a fan all weekend and a pitcher who impressed me was number 13 from the crushers had very good speed on her pitches, i think if she had the defense of some of the top teams she would be getting mentioned also,i heard a parent say there a very young 11u team.

I think the only consideration as to which tourney to play in is if will cost the parents 200.00 to drive there... ::)

Sad but true

People request facts, I print facts.
You don't like the facts, too bad.
I won't apologize for our teams' successes. It's bred through hard work, not belittling on the Internet.
Furthermore, I don't give a crap what you or the myriad idiots on this forum think about me.

"Any team worth mentioning is playing at Compuware that weekend, including the Slammers.
your neighborhood mentality is definitely showing."
Quote from Big Train
He says he only reports facts.
Seems to me Big Train needs to look up the definition of "facts".
I believe this is an opinion.
It would serve this board well if Big Train were only to report the facts.
I guess we all have a different "opinion" of "facts"

Or is this maybe just opinion?

Bigtrain,
I thought we had a very nice scrimmage against each other early this year and I would just like to mention that meeting you, your team and the parents that I was able to talk to was my pleasure. You have an exciting group of young ladies and you and the coaching staff was very professional I thought. The parents were great, from both sides, and it made for a fun day. I wish you and your ladies the best of luck this year and for many years to come. It was a pleasure meeting all of you and Goodluck throughout the year.

Anyone that has watched the Slammers know they can play ball. Hit like no one else. I was even thinking of asking Train if they give batting lessons to players not on their team.

Sometimes I think the Train just posts stuff on here to fire everyone else up so their teams will bring their 'A' game when playing the Slammers. The Slammers want the best competition every game. It does them no good to win games 20-1.

Train keeps a Runnin' all night long.

I just have to mention that I do not believe that the only teams worth seeing are at compuware. While the Slammers have a very talented group of girls, I do find that the arrogance is pretty sickening. I found it interesting how the family has been involved with softball for such a long period of time, and how they basically paved the way for these girls to get a great "education". However, there are many teams that are great teams, have great athletes, however, we all don't have the means to go all over the US to play ball. I found it quite disheartening that you feel that you need to spend loads of money traveling all over the country to "get a good education". What is the point? I mean, if you have the means to go all over the country to travel with your 12 year old, then obviously, you don't necessarily need the scholarship. We measely "neighborhood" folks sure could use those scholarships...

this comment from the myraid---to say or give the perception by saying our success was "bred by hard work" is condesending. It gives the impression they win games by outworking the competetion. I'd guess recruiting the best players from a large geopraphical area would be a more accurate way to describe the best way to acquire the #1 team in state ---nothing wrong at all with that --- then the hard work is added to the mix. If I'm wrong about this particular group of players and they are all from one community I apologize. As a buckeye I'm glad we have a group a ladies ready to compete with Texas , Cali , etc . But you don't have to rub it in everyone's face. MD

This thread is starting to make a bad turn. I think everyone has said their piece and it is time to retire this one.
