Whats the policy on coolers?

As far as our organization (who is running the event) we have no policy against them. I will check with the folks that run Stebbins Field and see if there have been any changes. In the past they have had no problem with them.

I can post them here but I think that Mike will be posting a link to a website dedictaed to the tournament that will provide real time game results during the weekend.

Here is the link to the site http://sites.google.com/site/treatycitytuneup. We'll see how all this technology works this weekend. The schedules and scores are in Google Docs linked to the website. We will update the scores from our iphones/blackberry's etc. after each game is completed. I'll be adding more content to the site tonight but the pools and schedules are all posted now.

The fields at the Stebbins complex are very good and we have a great track record of getting tournaments in. We can handle a little rain.

The way it looks right now there may be some rain overnite and we will be re-evaluating the situaton at 6:00am. We will try to let coaches know by 6:00am if the 8:00am games are on schedule or not.

The diamonds at Stebbins field are very good and we can handle some rain. We may have some delays on saturday but we expect to get games in for sure and Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday looks very good, so we will do everything in our power to get as many games in as possible. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

We got all of the games in on the Friday schedule and you can see the results as they are updated live at this website address: http://sites.google.com/site/treatycitytuneup

Just back from the fields. Rain is coming and going but the grounds crews are doing a great job and fields are looking great.

We got every game in as scheduled on saturday starting at 8:00am with the exception of one field that started 30 minutes late. By the third game it was caught up on that one as well and we made it thru the day right on time. Sunday looks great and we look forward to seeing everyone again.

I'll update yesterday's score later today. rich took the sheet for his ASA report.

10U: Laser Red over HOO Nitro 9-7

12U: Brats with Bats(Indiana) over Wave Blue (us) 3-2. This was a great game with great pitching from both sides. We led 2-0 until the bottom of the 6th when they got a few key hits and plated the go ahead on sac to center to go up 3-2. We had runner on 2nd and 3rd with one out in the top of the 7th but a soft liner over the pitcher's head towards 2nd base was caught and doubled up the runner at 2nd. Game over. That's a tough one but it was a great championship game that could have broken either way. Brats with Bats has a very solid team with good pitching and solid hitting. They gave up only 3 runs in 5 games coming into the championship game and I think they won by run rule every game prior. I don't like sending hardware back across state lines but that's how it goes sometimes. Hopefully we can steal some back next week in Muncie.

Ohio Wave Fastpitch would like to say Thank You to all of the teams that attended the 2009 Treaty City Tune-Up. We had a blast hosting the event and could not be more proud that we were able to get every game in this weekend as scheduled and in full. I think that only one game started late and that was a saturday morning game that we started a 1/2 hour late for safety reasons. That diamond was back on schedule by Noon.

The level of play that we saw especially from the 10U division was excellent. The HOO Nitro vs. Lasers Championship game was fun to watch. Nitro sure can hit the ball as can the Lasers. These two teams should see eachother in a few more finals I think before the season is over. The Ohio Fire and Miamisburg Sting teams are both very solid and well coached, they should have great season as well.

In the 12U Division we saw some great action too. The Championship game between Brats with Bats and Ohio Wave was a classic with great pitching and some timely hitting. These two teams whould be at the top of most tournaments they attend this season.

Special thanks to Greenville Girls Softball Assoc. (the owners of Stebbins Field) and their Concession stand crew. The addition of that new facility with the indoor restrooms (which are air conditioned) and the quality of what the concession stand had to offer is unmatched in my opinion. You guys were awesome. Kudos to Kris Garrsion and his ground crew as the fields were in perfect condition. We are blessed to be able to work together and be able to provide our visiting teams with a memorable experience. We have never had so many positive compliments. Thanks for the support.

You can find all of the scores and results in the "10U / 12U Results" section.
