So, are there any comments on the new Ohio Sports Park in North Ridgeville? I haven't been there yet. What is the cost to get in? Do they charge for parking? How are the food prices? Is there room to warm up before games, etc.

All I know is $5 per day.
Friday games have been moved 30-15 mins earlier.

can't bring food inside.

Sounds like tailgating to me!

Has anyone heard what's going on with the lighting issue?

Pray for no rain!

It is very very new - in fact they did not have all the fence work assembled last week. Very little grass to warm up on... If it rains it will be mud. Bathrooms aren't ready yet... Std port-a- johns. Food... don't know, I tailgated.

The fields are very nice and once they get the bathrooms done, grass to grow, and let you walk in those areas it will be one of the best places to play.

Was surprised to see with all the fastpitch tourn being held there that there are no fastpitch sized fields. They are all 300 plus ft fences with large infields.Have been to many fields that are much nicer for fastpitch .Still cleaning the mud off all my stuff from last weekend there.

They have 300 ft fences in Zanesville for the Memorial Tourney this weekend, too. Saw some real bombs hit there and all the girls were were held to doubles and triples because the outfielders were playing 250 feet from the plate. It was beer league-esque.

Was there Friday night. It is a slowpitch complex. They had slowpitch games going on same time as the girls were playing. I really one that don't like mixing the two, but that is just me. The parking is bad. They park the isles so close if you drive a suv or larger car it make it hard to get out of there. I think the place the Nailbiter was played the past couple of years is a much better place for the girls game and always thought all the tournys that were played at the old place was run very well. I think Ohio Sport Park will be a very nice place for slowpitch, but if they don't put temp. fences up I don't think it fits for fastpitch.

Great slowpitch fields when they are done. They sukk for fastpitch though. Parking is HORRIBLE and very dusty because the grass isn't in yet and where they did try to put it in, it got walked on and died. 300 ft fences with big infields so that your outfielders are just behind the dirt. 5 dollars to get in and no food or drinks other than water. Concessions are limited to candybars, chips, pizza, and pop or gatorade. I think they should have stuck to the other North Ridgeville fields they used before, they were very nice fields, better than these.

Was there this last weekend. Maybe I missed something about the concessions. OSP stated no outside food was allowed in; however, I saw several boy's teams bring in buckets of KFC. Double standard?

I really felt sorry for the two ladies collecting entrance fees. They took a lot of flak all weekend.

Suddenly, I have a real taste for something original.

Double standard alright. No food extra $2.00 at the entrance. That's just wrong. Their own web site says $3 to get in and they have been charging $5 at the girls tournament from what I've been reading from other posts.

We were there a couple of weeks ago and it was definitly a mud hole when we got there. Very little grass any where and what was there was thin and water logged. Some of the porta pots were sitting leaning in the middle of puddles. By the next day it had dried out and was not so bad. In a few years when all the grass is in and the trees have grown a little it will be a very nice looking park although there is no place and I mean no place to warm up before games. Our team threw and took grounders on the gravel paths because that is about the only flat areas there are other than the parking lot. As far as them charging 5 instead of 3 for a gate fee, they did give you a two dollar coupon for the concession stand to help pay for the cold hot dogs.

I was just there this past weekend and some sod in and trying to grow. Will be nice slow pitch site, but as in earlier post need to put up 200ft. fence for fastpitch. This week they want to charge teams an extra $50 to go play at another complex cause they can't collect the gate fee over there they want the coach to pay at OSP and then go to the other fields at Palmer Park.

Said it wasn't an over booking but are going to bring men in again this week as the fields start to empty. With all the teams there I can't see any fields being empty unless they want them to be. Was told they have an issue with the lights, that isn't our fault, shouldn't charge for us to have to move to cover the legal issues.

I don't think there should be more then one style of ball being played at the park at one time. If you want fastpitch then let it be, if you want slow pitch so be it and the same for baseball, but not all on the same weekend.

16u championship game was moved in the 5th inning because the lights weren't hooked up to the generators. Went from the 200 ft fences to the 300 ones.
Had to kick a mens slo pitch team off to complete the game. But what really inhaled was the monster shot dd hit to R center. UIC even said if that had been on the Fastpitch field it was in the lake. Other thing was to different prices for baseball and softball and still got the 2.00 off coupon for either one.
