River Valley Baseball for Youth is again proud to host a Club Softball league for the 2010 season and continue with another successful year for the Middle School Girls. We welcome 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls to participate. We are taking the first 18 teams to play in the Club League for the 2010 season. Any participating school is welcome to put one or more teams in the league but must consist of girls from the same participating school.

The season will begin March 30, 2010, and continue for five weeks ending May 1, 2010. Games will be played on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and double headers on Saturdays to complete a 16 game schedule. Game time on Tuesday and Thursday is 5:30 pm and Saturdays at 9:30 am and 11:00 am.

The Team fee will be $175.00 and is due by March 5, 2010. Team fees include game balls as well as field prep and lining of the fields, and the scheduling the umpires. Both teams will evenly split the umpire fee at each game ($20.00 per team = $40 per game to umpire). Each team is responsible for their uniforms. However, a number on the back of each matching shirt is required.

New this year will be the introduction of two divisions: Varsity and JV. The purpose is to split out the more experienced teams for a more even division of skill level and competition. Please be sure to indicate which division your team should play in. Final determination will be made by RVBFY.

We welcome the first 18 teams to the league, so don?t hesitate and get signed up today. You may register your team now without a complete roster. Please sign up by listing your Team Name and contact information or fill out the top of the Registration Form and e-mail it in or mail it in with the league fee. The league will be posted on the OFC at www.game-ex.com. You may post there also.

The registration deadline is March 5, 2010. There is also a coaches meeting that day at 7:30 pm at the River Valley Middle School commons area. Team insurance should be covered by the school, since all teams practice at their participating school.

This is a good leauge, nice facilities. I like having all the games in one place. Any teams interested it would be worth a little drive time, you do not have to work your own field which can be time consuming on weekdays. They also have real bathrooms. Very easy to get to, very close to SR 23. The varsity and JV divisions is also an improvement.

Hello all. We still have room for more teams. Current count is at 13, possibly 14 teams. Still waiting on varsity/jv designation on a couple teams. Reminder of the coaches meeting at RVMS (commons) on Friday, March 5, 2010, at 7:30 p.m.

Team listings are in the original post.

I think Mansfield Christian had two teams after talking to the Varsity coach that they were going to enter.

I heard that some schools from Richland county, including Mansfield Christian, will be playing in a league in that area this spring.

Only league I know of in our area is the MOL summer high school teams and we play in that one after high school season. 12U, 15U, 18U.

LK, Mansfield Christian played in the RVBFY league last spring, but the drive was a little distant after discussions with the coach's. They posted on JJ to try and start their own league, dont know how it turned out, but I couldn't fathom they would drive to Marion again, but who knows, as I dont see Marion Grant Middle School on the list either?

I have not been contacted by Mansfield Christian yet. Or any other team from Richland county. Would personally invite them back and the other teams also. PM if you know who/how to contact them. I believe our games are starting 1/2 hour later this year. Maybe that will help them to make the drive.

Grant has inquired but not committed. After tonight's coaches meeting, I hope to have a better idea of everyone involved.
