We had a great time at the Static dance last night and at 61 years old I thought I had seen it all....until last night.
I have a lot of respect for the Static kids, parents and some of the coaches and they work hard however last night was something straight out of a play book written by Tim Duncan!
No it was not an indoor corn hole championship although that was offered!
No it was not how far you could spit while dancing to Rocky Top!
A lady was coming around to our table asking us would we like to sign up for a spot? What or who is a spot? Well it is really not a spot it is a square!
What is the square for?
So she took us over to a cage and there were 20 equally measured squares and each one was numbered....I was looking for possibly a possum or raccoon as it looked kind of like a chicken coop.
Because the dance was taking place in Ross, I felt like it was possible there could be a country theme associated to the dance and there were more pickup trucks in the parking lot than cars so the chicken coop on the dance floor was not a total shock. Tim keeps one in his kitchen so this was something I had seen before.
Just when I thought I had it figured out a rather huge man wearing bib over alls and built like a WWF wrestler on steroids, wearing batting gloves and carrying a chicken under his arm appears!
The lady tells me this is country poop (it actually starts with an S) bingo! You pick a square where you think the chicken will poop and if it does you split the pot!
It was like deja vu and being at Tim Duncan's house in Fairborne, Ohio!
The guy carrying the chicken did however have all his teeth and a nice tan so he must have come in from the South with the tan he had unless he is local and uses a tanning bed!
The next thing I hear is the DJ playing the Chicken Dance song as an intro for the person carrying the chicken.
Some one commented he looked like the Michael Vic of chicken handlers
He placed the chicken inside the cage and the crowd cheered like it was a Mixed Martial Arts match however the coop was square. The crowd was cheering every time the chicken stood on a new spot.
There were rumors the chicken had been feed Ex-***...rumors about these things can be over exaggerated.
I picked square 17 and was trying to honor Tim's daughtesr Brit birthday and for her being picked by ESPN. Then I could not remember if she was 16 or 17 so I went with 17!
It was like magic as the chicken made a deposit on number 17...we had won the first round of Chicken Poop Bingo!
The Static girls started doing the Chicken Dance and cheering like they had won something also.
The Chicken Handler Man then removed the chicken carefully to refill it for the next round :lmao:
I can not help but wonder what they will come up with for next year since Tim Duncan is now a consultant for entertainment.
The wife said this was even better than last years dance and was looking forward to coming back again.
