mold or smell

For the record. Posted on here last week asking about the mold, because our daughter has asthma and we had never been there before, and some people took it the wrong. " I've noticed that happen's alot on here" After being there I think it's blown way out of proportion the smell is minimal and once your in there did'nt even notice it. Actully I think what your smelling is dirt. Girl's had a great time definately be back. Spoke with the Spano's explained to them why I posted. He understood & did'nt have a problem with it. " Very nice gentleman." Was surprised to learn from him just how often the health department is called on him, that is a shame. I think it is great that they care enough to provide a facility like their's for the girl's, hat's off to them. Congrat's to the roadrunner's.

The "What's that smell?" thing was just a few members kidding around. The Spano Dome smells like an indoor, dirt field with concrete walls. There is no mold, Staph, or any other communicable disease. I'm pretty sure everyone knows that and were just having some fun.

Glad you had a good experience at the Spano Dome. I would never go back. Mr. Spano advertised a tournament for months then, due to greed, failed to live up to his advertised 4 game minimum tournament. NSA oficials had no comment either. Maybe a call to the Police department would have been better than a call to the Health Department.

First time in the Spano in a while. Yep, it still smells like dirt. Can't figure out why. Really like the changes to field #2. Nothing better than playing in/on the dirt.

I have 3 kids that have played at or have been to the Spano Dome to watch games for the past 4 yrs and not once have anyone of them gotten sick with virus, staph infection, or any disease that is suppose to be "grown" in there. It's DIRT and concrete!! What do you want it to smell like ROSES!!! IMO if you don't like the smell don't go there!! The chance to play on DIRT in the middle of winter is few and far between. Take the opportunity to better your childs skills then worry about the smell of dirt.

You busted me. Our Great Great Great Grandfather Carrspano was a real character (we all just refer to him now as Popo). A very interesting family tree to say the least. Popo's motto was, " If you build it, they will complain."

Prior to Popo's time on earth, both family names, Spano and Carr, had a family crest (not the toothpaste) and a Coat of Arms (not The Men's Wearhouse). Since Popo's demise, (rumor has it he was calling a game and got hit in the head with a foul tip ((no face protection in those days)) and the leeches probably did more harm than good), the "family" has been hard at work developing a new family crest.

What?................You don't believe me? Popo would turn over in his grave if he would not have been cremated by accident. Don't you recall the Great Barn Fire of 1812? Oh, wait, never mind, that was a war.

We have played there for years. We really enjoy it and we drive an hour each week to play.

I wish they could carpet the warm-up areas but it must be a health/safety concern.

my DD's room, or even worse, our basement after a softball sleepover--with all those softball girls socks!--smells worse than spano.....plus the smell of the tealtown has scarred all the smell sensors in my nose, so what do i know?
