Too Quiet in the GWOC

Re: To Quiet in the GWOC

Looking forward to another solid year from Northmont with pitcher Jess Clutter returning, and only three seniors from last year's team gone. There looks to be a lot of competition for those open spots and for both the varsity and JV teams alike. I cannot wait to watch this talented, but still young team.

Re: To Quiet in the GWOC

I'm curious to see what the GWOC has to offer this year as well. Greenville gets back in there next year but we still play 9 of the 16 teams and those games are always good ones.

Here is my prediction based on what I saw last year and expect this year from some of the teams and players that I am familiar with:

North.........................Central......................South

Sidney........................ Northmont............ ........Lebanon
Piqua......................... Wayne .......... ........ Miamisburg
Butler..........................Centerville.............. ...... Fairborn
Troy........................... Springfield........ .......... Xenia
Trotwood-Madison........ Fairmont....................... Springboro
................................. Beavercreek ...... .........

WOW! Fairmont 2nd to last?! I put Miamisburg down because of the loss of seniors from last year's team and Springboro up due to a stud pitcher I have been hearing about....

Sorry Vipers, hopefully I am wrong!!I still think Fairmont will give Lebanon another run for their GWOC money...they still have tons of talent, as much as that pains me to say!

I am curious how your diamonds are shaping up---the ones at Rotary Park (Beavercreek)are very spongy--even diamond 7 which generally dries the best may not be ready next week.

If your fields are questionable for next week, Athletes In Action has two clay infield/turf outfield fields. We are also able to tarp our infields. Ours will be ready and are available for use. Email me at Nicole.Ottavi@athletesinaction.org.

I am hearing that Northmonts team should be able to get on their field by tomorrow. And will have practice on the field. So we are in good shape.

He is talking about Stebbins Field in Greenville, they are covered with Diamond Pro brick dust. What really makes these field's work is the systematic drainage under it.

Practiced on our field (Sidney) last night, it was a little soft, but playable. Chewed it up w/spike drag after practice last night to let it air out during the day...should be in great shape today for practice and in fine condition for our first scrimmage on Saturday. BTW, we have brick dust on ours.

Brick Dust etc makes a good Spring field, especially after a rainy day.

We now have 2 diamonds at Beavercreek ready to go.
