I think our basic team will be set today. Our coach is a good man and teacher, seems like he legitimately tries to give everybody a look. Because of the way he takes his time he almost always has frosh on varsity, if they don't start the season with the varsity when a player is needed he has a good handle on who could fill in. We have 3 teams so I'm sure it's not easy lol

Tim it all depends on attitude. We have some older girls if they don't change that attitude then we don't want them. We have an idea, but we want everyone trying right now to make the Varsity. We do not cut, but we may ask someone it would be better if you didn't play! We have 7 starters back, but as Uber stated, we have some young girls better than the starters, so who played short last year may not have that spot this year.

Mn?........... thats golden gopher softball dont ya know

You betcha:). It's kind of a mystery to me that the U of MN doesn't field a stronger team, girls sports are huge in this state with great participation numbers and we're home to programs that have been DII and DIII National champions multiple times in the last 10 years (Winona St and St Thomas University).

I know short summers put us at a disadvantage, but if Lindsey Vonn can become a world class skier learning on a speed bump like Buck Hill (5 miles from my house btw:cool:) you would think the premeir DI school in the state could produce at least a Big Ten championship every once in a while.

This pretty much sums up what we are doing.

Havent heard anything about Norwalk`s team yet since our dd is only 8th grade and 1 year away.
But what has caught my eye out here is Monroeville does not even have a coach in place so Im not even sure if they have done anything yet. They are still advertising for a varsity coach as of yesterdays paper.
Gotta feel bad for their girls!

Producing a champion skier in Mn makes sense, softball not so much, kids are gonna go where they have more than 2 seasons.... july and winter..

Well yesterday the told the girls they should find out Wed. on who is varsity and who is jv. Daughter seems to be doing fine with it. Is coming home very positive and very encouraged on how it has went. Thinking there are gonna be a few freshman starting varsity I guess from what I have heard they have been tearing it up at tryouts, but we will see Wed.
