Re: To Quiet in the GWOC

Our first scrimmage was a situational scrimmage vs. Butler where we put runners on base to start most of the innings so the score was out of whack. Butler looks much improved from last year. They have two new starting young sophomores pitching for them this year. There hitting looks better also. I see butler doing real well with these new pitchers on the mound. Northmont thru in all of are girls on varsity into the game to test them. I think we used 5 pitchers in the ten inning scrimmage. I was impressed by our 5 freshman that got in the game for there hitting and defense. Our team looked solid on defense for the most part. A very competitive game by both sides a good test for each team to get ready for the season. I think most teams will be scrimmaging next week. We have a scrimmage next wed. and thurs. We need to get in game form before we face these Florida HS down in Florida who has been in season a month.

Springboro got on the field twice this weekend. First against Middletown winning 11-3 without starting pitcher. Hitting looks much improved. Second playing Bluffton winning 3-1, again playing without starting pitcher. Sophomore pitcher really pitched well. Solid infield with tons of speed in the outfield this year.

I have been hearing a lot of good things about Springboro...we will test each other next Tuesday! Centerville is in a quasi-rebuild year, with 7 new varsity players this year, including 3 freshman....

Can't wait for the game Tuesday! No freshman on varsity this year, however our squad is predominantly sophomores, three juniors, and three seniors. Starting lineup includes the six juniors and seniors, and three sophomores. Any given day another sophomore can creep into the lineup for a senior. Two junior middle infielders who've been starting since their freshman year seem to have taken over the leadership roles this year. All in all, we're excited down here for the game Tuesday and for the season as a whole!

Re: To Quiet in the GWOC

Northmont Had thier first two games of the season as a double header against crestview, Florida. They were a pretty good hitting team. They hit us pretty good the second game. Are first game we did great. Heres the scores.

1st game
Northmont 1
Crestview 0
WP Jess Clutter 2 hit shutout

2nd game
Northmont 3 (1-1)
Crestview 13
F/5

Some really bad umpiring in both games. But we saw some things we can fix from the day. For Tomorrow.
