I know what umps have to go through. My dd does it for a job in Little League. The kids umpire the game up to the 12U level where the adults take over. Last year, she made a call that got a girl out. It was a bang-bang play (something that doesn't typically happen at 8 and in rec). I guess it was the dd's father that started to harrass her, until I stood up. After each half inning, she would ask what she missed and stuff. I told her, the next time he jumos on you, throw him out, you have that power. Well, another parent from the other team jumped on her about a questionable call. She just stood there with her arms crossed and gave that look. Needless to say, no one questioned her again. She's looking forward to this year, hoping to throw someone out. .
