Hawks 93 went 5 and 0 on the weekend scoring a total of 48 Runs and allowing 10 in their 5 games.

On behalf of the Hawks 93 I would like to thank all the parents and players that endured the heat this weekend. Hope everyone had a good time. Look forward to seeing everyone at the Goshen Tourny next weekend

hawks tourny for the 16u was a joke!! first of all you can not charge $ for gate fee at a city park,if you try to charge people then charge them all not a couple you see for 1st game then say the heck with it for the rest.the 16u div had 5 teams and we were the last to get done rest of age groups had more teams and were done way before 16 u was.game times were change then teams were changed then changed back.very poor run tourny for a asa enq .i know i will tell every team i know to stay away from any tourny the hawks put on.It should be about the young girls playing there tails off then making a buck.

For someone who has made 12 posts in 2 years I hope you know what you are talking about. The CITY is who charged the fee, NOT the Hawks. So get your FACTS straight before you shoot your mouth off.

LOL I am guessing what team you are with and I find your comments hilarious at best. I hear you are a first year team so I will give you a heads up about travel ball. Be prepared to pay gate fees as parks like Smith are not free and have to be paid for some how. If every tournament we go to this only charges a $5 fee per car load I will feel very fortunate. Even drive in movies stopped charging by the car load and started charging per person.

BTW many tournaments are run at city parks including state, national and other major tournaments and they charge a premium gate fee for those. You will find this out as you get more experience in travel ball.

Congratulations to Hawks 93' on their 16u championship they dominated their competition this weekend and obviously left some INDIVIDUALS (from other teams) a little upset. Great job to all the other teams as well and thanks for all the positive comments this weekend about this event.

I like to thank everyone for coming out in the heat this weekend, i wasnt ready for August weather this soon !! :eek: All the girls on all teams, played their hearts out and should be commended.
Id like to give a shout out to the Outcast, its always fun seeing you guys, its refreshing to see how you keep the whole travel thing in perspective, you really make being out there fun. Also to the Diamond Chix, a class act who doesnt quit, thank you for coming all the way down....

Good luck to all teams the rest of the season.

I am sorry you were disappointed... this is the only negative comment, email or call I have taken. May I make 2 points to clarify.

1. We did charge the gate .. not the city. We did 'pay' the park to use the fields, and the city graciously allowed us to recover our costs by charging a fee to 'softball' cars only .. we set up at the 4 way stop and only approached cars turning left into the 'ball fields parking area' - folks using the park that turned right were not approached. $5/car is a very fair fee and published well in advance.

2. 16 u - this div was a little hectic - we had a coach that had paid - contact me on Sunday wanting to pull out - we had our 16u team in the bubble for the same reason - HS Playoffs. I asked both to wait until Wed to see what happened - both had girls lose in HS games Weds and they wanted in - so we accomadated them - we re-did the schedule and lined it up best we could. We did mess up the bracket assignments initially for sunday - a coach called me- I drove from Dayton to Midd at 10pm, reviewed it and fixed it - awarding them the 2nd seed as was right. Sunday started with everything as it should have been. That is all we can do - listen and fix the problems to make it right.

We did schedule the 16 to start later (noon start time) most 16 year olds loved it - they hate starting at 8am on a Sunday ... being a 3 day weekend we thought that later start times - esp for the team coming from above DAyton to Columbus would appreciate the extra time ...

I am sorry your experience was not good as everyones else's - I hope to see you next year in Kettering at our June tourney but if not I do wish you and your team the very best.

Note: If you review the previous posts of this person it is not hard to determine who it is. I am sorry that you have an issue with our organization - and others from your past ... we are doing the best we can, 99% of those I talk to had a great weekend and keep it all in perspective for what it us.. a good lesson to learn.

Geesh.......only one complaint........to me that is a huge success story in and of itself. Have known the Hawks folks for quite sometime and have always known them to be standup folks..........Kudos on a successfull tourney and cant wait to lace em up next weekend.

I will give props to the 93 hawks for winning the tourny they earned it ,as for being new to travel ball [i dont think so] many of the top tournys dont charge at gate its in the fees already .as a major tournament[ please] you would think as a class organization [ha ha] would line the field for the finals,i guess you didnt charge enough at the gate.oh must be you only charged some of the softball cars not all of them , i guess lesson learned

We paid a fee to utilize the park - the gate was to recover fees .. SOP in softball land...

Sounds like the 93 Hawks are as tough as I have heard . Nice to have you in our pool at the asa state. Going to be fun time /. At least Friday night is going to be fun win or lose !
