I think the best way to sum this thread up would be to simply say, "You can't please em' all." I've never been to a tourney that ran 100% smooth with no incidents or complaints.

Heck, I'm frankly surprised there aren't MORE complaints on here. Every ligitimate scientific study ever performed on customer satisfaction shows an extraordinarily higher percentage of customers complain about a bad service or product, versus those who would go out of their way to report a positive experience with said service or product. Bad word travels faster. That being said, if this thread were a case study, it would fail that very theory... meaning, it's good to know our patrons reported many more good experiences versus bad. ;-) Just like the best umpires will tell you: "You can't get them all right all the time... but you sure can try."

Were hoping to keep SBFAMILY and the rest of his team distracted by Chris,s Dynamic Dugout dancing......... we were hoping to charge admission to see him this weekend as a fund raiser, but we got a little busy

Comment on posts by tcfastpitch

I wanted to be clear that this person is not on the 16u Xpress team coaching staff and that while tcfastpitch is being critical of some aspects of this weekends tourney that is his right to do so. We answered the concerns the best we could in my prev post. If you look back on his prev posts on OFC you can see that they have an issue with our organzation. It goes back to last years tryouts.

I spoke with the head coach of the 16u Xpress team Sat night, listened to his concerns and addressed them by fixing the bracket as was right. He was cordial on the phone in explaining the situation and we resolved it. I wanted to thank the Xpress 16u for coming to play and apologize for the posts here that have developed about the gate fee and par itself that may have put them and us in a negative light.

Congratulations to the 12 "Thunder" for winning. I am affiliated with the Championship Fastpitch-RED team that had to forfiet the championship game !
We had battled our way from 8th seed to the championship game and just ran out of gas. Still perplexed on the comment that the homeplate umpire made when we came from field # 5 to the championship game on field # 6 with "NO BREAK" whatsoever ! We got to field #6 and the homeplate umpire said "5 MINUTES.....WE START IN 5 MINUTES" ! I asked him why we could not get a break in between and his EXACT comment was "WERE 45 MINUTES BEHIND SCHEDULE", then I asked him' "SIR, IS THERE ANOTHER GAME AFTER THIS ONE", and then he replied "ARE YOU QUESTIONING MY AUTHORITY" and I stated "NO SIR, IM JUST QUESTIONING YOUR REASONING" !
Not to take anything away from the "THUNDER" but after 2 innings our girls started dropping like flies due to the heat and humidity, and my daughter was the one taken to the hospital. She was diagnosed with "DEHYDRATION" but is fine now. I just hope the homeplate umpire gets to read this !
Ohio Hawks, we were at your tournament last year in Hebron,KY and this year in Middletown,OH......just tell us where next years tournament is going to be held.......WE WILL BE THERE.....!
Northmontthunder....can you post a link about the write-up ? thanks !

Thanks... I am so glad to hear your DD is ok. I meant to call you and check on her, but it slipped away from me, my apologies - I should have checked in.

Also, sorry about the umpire decision - in that heat they need to be more considerate of the players. I will talk to the umpire scheduler and make sure it does not happen again. We had a player go down last year with dehydration - it took a trip to the hospital for an IV to get her going... scary stuff.

Glad to hear your DD is OK. We will have a definitive tournament rule about breaks for next year's tournament.

Thanks for attending the last two years.

All the best,

Derek Jacobs

Congrats to a first year team fresh out of SLOW PITCH. No kidding, these girls are doing extremely well. It was fun to watch you and get to know some of your coaches and parents.
