I love the thought of having the opportunity to play at Hall of Fame stadium!!! Nice flat, even infield and beautiful outfield with no major bumps or holes! My OFers will LOVE it!!!
Me, too. Look at the 14u division.. Two teams and only one wants to go. Go figure.
If you look at last year's teams in the HOF... you see Miami Valley Express. I don't think they would have went if college coaches were there to watch. Especially at 16u !!!
I try to bring a quality event to Southern Ohio and not one southern Ohio team in it.. and I'm not starting the 16u until 2:30 to HELP out on HS issues for the teams and still nothing from Cincinnati / Dayton area teams.
If you don't get additional teams entered in the 16U division, would it be possible to hold the tournament on Sunday without Saturday play? And whether or not it would be possible, what would the format be with only 4 teams?
It HAS to be a 2 game pool play and double elimination. That is ASA requirements.
If you started at 8 am on a Sunday with pool play... the championship goes off at 6 pm with an if at 8pm and then you are out of daylight.
I'm pushing my luck now on time and daylight availablity.. honestly.. on Sunday by allowing such a late start on Saturday
Pool Game times at 2:30 and 4: 30 on Saturday and if anymore teams and we will start the double elims at 6:30 pm on Saturday. If no more teams.. we start double elims on Sunday and the loser's bracket is back to back to back to back.. you get the picture
IN pool play.. the MINIMUM time limit is 1:40 minutes
It is not against the rule to play the whole game... which is absolutely my intentions in such an important tournament. I think the teams deserve that personally
Pool play at 2:30 and 4:30 on Saturday ( Probally go 3 pm and 5 pm so teams can get their players here from their HS stuff)
SUNDAY
Everyone plays at 8 am in first round
Winner's bracket finals and first round of loser bracket at 10 am
Winner of loser bracket game and loser of winner's bracket finals at 12 Noon
Championship game at 2 pm
IF game at 4 pm
Thanks Tim. We appreciate all your hard work in putting this together. And it would make me a LOT less anxious if the first pool game started at 3:00 pm as we have players with volleyball commitments whose parents might be tempted to use a lead foot if the start time is 2:30 pm.
I know... and this is NOT an area for a lead foot...
Before the tournament starts... I'll write the directions that I think the Columbus area teams should go and give warnings of where the speed traps are...LOL Especially in CLINTON COUNTY on I-71 .. They like you out of towners.... I read about you all every week in the Wilmington News Journal online...
With the economy the way it is.. and a new Municipal Court Building in Wilmington... the OHP and Sheriff's Department is keeping their budget in the same order by pulling over more cars... I know you all might think I am nuts... but it's a fact.
